Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

“His sulking, his grumbling, his general bad mood for several days has been clouding and disrupting the atmosphere at the end of the Tour de France,” wrote Alexandre Roos. “Because how can we be enthusiastic if the Yellow Jersey himself gives the impression of being bored, of living a painful experience, of sulking when he has achieved an exceptional race, four stage victories, and total mastery?”

I agree, there's a crappy atmosphere at the end of This tour. Whether Pocacar is doing it on purpose or not, a winner with that kind of attitude is not exactly inspiring.

This is just a joke. How can someone compare these RVV to those Pogacar won?
The amount of belgian riders in the top 10.

Hahaha holy moly this is crazy. There is no comp with Pog and eddy. Its clear who the goat is.

It is just a embaressment to compare Merckx to Pogacar when talking about raw talent. There is zero doubt in my mind Pogacar is better, he needs to win way more (all GTs, all monuments) to be considered the Goat but in other way it is also difficult to accept Merckx is the Goat of cycling when we look to races like RVV and PR and most riders in the top10 (6,7,8) are belgian riders. It is also like a Nationals championship.
Embarrasment is a but much ? Aye pog only needs another 6 grand tours, 7 san remos, a few Roubaixs and a couple more world championships.

All those Belgians in the top ten lived for the ronde, Van der poel can’t lace De vlaemincks cleats.

The tour now is two rider procession, weakest era ever, who cares if a few scrappy brits, Colombians and Australians are sat in the grupetto.

Pogacar is weak, his only rival in the tour is doing a Lance every year and still can’t win, his main classics rivals would be ridden off the wheel of Van Looy or De Vlamincks in the first 10km.

Ok mate. Different opinions. I show you some facts, you can take them or ignore them and maintain your opinion based on nothing.

I see your facts, everyone knows it’s harder to dominate all through the calendar year now than when Merckx did, but I think it’s a bit absurd to say Pogacar is already the goat above Merckx. He still has to win quite a bit to take that mantle.

Would’ve loved to see him at the Vuelta but at least he can have a lot of rest and fully recover before tackling the Worlds and a tilt at the Autumn classics again.
He already said they will announce after a few days.
Some people keep talking about the TDF 2025 being the hardest ever, bla, bla, bla.
I don't think so.
The avg. speed after Stage 20 is 42.882 km/h. I expect it to go above 43 km/h after today.
For me the TDF 2022 was harder for Pogacar. It had the record until this year at 42.114 km/h. It was harder for him for several reasons:
- The cobbled stage in the first week which exhausted him
- The Granon Stage which destroyed him
- He was attacking like crazy almost every day before collapsing on Hautacam
Pogacar in 22 was younger and still being coached by the bald fraud. The TDF 2022 was the HARDEST ONE for him. No questions about that.

Pressure, hard racing after already other early season peaks, a competing team that made the race hard for you since day one, break tests you with their car, sends riders to block you while fetching bottles, a crash, a cold and in general 3 weeks of racing - and people are like "why is he not smiling?", "why is he tired?"

Lol...

Some people are accepting a Vuelta non-participation but I'm not.
I'm one of the most hardcore Pog fans and I don't accept excuses.
The plan was to do the Vuelta and he needs to follow it. I can't accept that Visma broke him these 3 weeks.
That's from me.

Not guaranteed. You will see. If he doesn't win the Vuelta but wins Lombardia + World's they will find a reason to not give it to him.
It was impossible last year with the Triple Crown but we'll see this year.
Nah. Tour, 2 Monuments, Dauphine, and 2 podiums in 2 other Monuments should be enough already. And of course, he’s not done just yet.
