Vertical meters are not everything.
Tour had 3 or 4 stages for GC riders very hectic and very stressful (stages 2, 4, 6, 7) despite few elevation. This is something the Vuelta doesn't have.
Also the stages you mention are hectic because Tadej and Jonas are in the race.
Remove them and the other GC guys will be quiet on those stages.
If Pog was riding the Vuelta against Jonas and Visma there are multiple stages that could have been turned to hell.

Those stages were hectic because of Jonas/Jumbo.
They realised very soon the only way to beat Pogacar is him to crashing out.

If Lemond wasn't shot Hinault had his work cut out - at least in grand tour racing. Lemond's hunting accident was in April 1987. He went on to win two more Tours full of lead when he admitted he wasn't a strong as in 1986 when he beat Hinault head to head.

I can't see Pogacar not having a better palmarès than Hinault by the time he finishes his career.
I agree that by the time his career is over Tadej will have surpassed Hinault, but he’s not there yet.

To me, it seems Pogi is fed up with all the media hoopla he must do at every race, but at the moment still wants to ride. How long before the media demands kill off his joy of riding will be interesting to see. Will he make it to the 2028 Olympics (which are at the moment down to go on from the 14th to the 30th of July, so that will mess up the Tour)?

He will ride til 2030 at least. There is no way he will retire sonner than that. My bet is 2032 and that is also oretty normal since he will be 33 then. Those late comments from him are extremly overblown.

Pogs mind has become affected by all the media attention and focus on him. That do not disturb jersey is crazy, we’ve never seen that.
He has 2 - 3 more years at this level max imo

Yes i agree. This and next year should be crucial. If he gets WC + Lombardia and next year- 3 monuments+ Tour and Vuelta, then he would be really on great track. It is Tadej so nothing is impossible.
He "just" needs 2 monuments per season to reach 15 wins and 1 GT per year. Very realistic if you ask me. MVP is not gonna ride after his 33 th birthday (after 2028).

The Tour is the Tour. If you have 21 flat stages they would still race like maniacs.
My point is that the Vuelta is hard.
Pogacar will not double a TDF + Vuelta with a classics campaign before that.
The route of the Vuelta this year isn´t hard.

Me too. He is suffering from his success.

He's racing history. It's his only competition. As @James M would say, it's basic stuff. Easy for all to see. You don't have to like it to see it.
Yes sir. It's really basic stuff, easy and obvious for everyone to see.

LOL

Better be enjoying it Matteo, he coming for ya
Is there ever an interview where Matteo, Grischa doesn't mention Pogacar? I know journalists often instigate it with the questions, but Matteo frequently goes out of his way to bring up Donkey Kong. Not sure its helping his career..

Whole year from spring classics to the Tour, it must be though on them mentally to be beaten like childs without being close, understandable why their fried mentally.

Even in the Tour, they only talk about Pogacar. No mention to other riders.

I agree to be honest. It is very possible by the end of 2028, he will have 17 monuments.
Probably as we can see he is mentally affected and will not be so dominant by 2028, It will be hard for him as he has been dominant since a young age. Credit to him if he can keep winning at this rate beyond 2028

He has been struggling mentally for sure. For that reason I said he would win 15 monuments until 2028 and 3 GTs. With that palmares, he will be the second greatest achiever in cycling.
