I know Slovenia will have a very weak team but I honestly can’t see a scenario short of a serious crash or illness where he doesn’t just scythe through the field and destroy everyone.

He might have to go from 150 out to cover secondary challengers from Belgium/Italy/France/USA if it is an aggressive race.

If teams have not tried to make it properly hard nearly an hour before they reach the foot of the long climb and got a strong group ahead of the main pack then they can start planning how to obtain silver and bronze.
A 110 km solo is almost impossible. He is not a robot. And we don't know how much he will need to recover when he decides to move. Roglic will be important but he will not move an inch for Pogacar.

It probably would not be wholly solo but bridging to a small group.

Every chance of some mutual cooperation from UAE teammates like Del Toro and Almeida who are also their countries best chance of a podium so have no great conflicts of interest. Such moves would benefit the chances of good results for all 3 riders.

Yeah, some UAE teammates may cooperate with Pogi (like Sivakov last year).

Both of them are not one day racers. I believe more in Narvaez.

Del Toro has a fairly decent one day record with a win in Milano - Torino and podium at San Sebastián.
Milan Turin's startlist wasn't very good.

UAE specializes in winning small races, and then those riders don't do the same in the big ones.

In today's classic, the best UAE rider wasn't even in the top 30. But they won day all the races at the beginning of the year in Sapin and they will win the Italian ones at the end of the year against several Pro Conti riders.

I'm not saying this is the case with Del Toro, but it is with many other riders.

There's a reason thbat UAE has been unable to win a major classic without Pogacar. I remember Visma winning with Laporte, Jorgenson, and even Tratnik, in the Northern campaign. UAE has 0 wins in those classics without Pogacar.

UAE wins big only with Pogacar. This is very telling specially when I hear they have so much talent.

Next year I expect this:
Almeida - Giro-Tour
Del Toro - Tour-Vuelta (I don't know about the Vuelta but I think he should drop time on purpose in the Tour and help Pogacar in the high mountains.)
Pogacar - Tour

They all lead one GT. I believe Ayuso will leave this year. If not, Tour-Vuelta for him.

Yeah very true.

Look at the 4 main dominating teams in the last 20 years:

Ineos - Won the TDF with 4 different riders (Wiggins/Froome/Thomas/Bernal) and Monuments with 2 different riders (Poels/Kwiatkowski)

Jumbo Visma - Won Grand Tours with 4 different riders (Roglic/Vingegaard/Kuss/S.Yates) and Monuments with 2 different riders (Roglic/Van Aert)

Quickstep - Won Monuments with 5 different riders (Boonen/Devolder/Terpstra/Boonen/Alaphilippe/Evenepoel)

UAE - Only Pogacar has won either a monument or grand tour with them.
