There is no way, Pogacar gained 36 seconds just by riding better on corners. No way. He won that time almost due to power.
Have you seen Evenepoel during descent of the Galibier? Then look at the map again of that ITT. He definitely lost most time with cornering.

So what's the experts' verdict? Will Teddy (with his miner position) get crushed by Remco today? Or will his sheer powa prevail?

Watching the women´s race, it's becoming increasingly clear to me that the toughness of this time trial has been exaggerated. The one in Monaco was tougher. The climb and descent in Monaco are incomparable with those descents.

These descents are faster than in Monaco because there aren't many corners.

The race hasn't even started and the excuses are popping out.
Pogacar should win this. They designed it for him.

I'm with you. If he loses, it's because someone was better.
But don't tell they designed this route for him, it's not true. Rwanda is full of hills.

What I'm saying is he won't find a better route for him in the next decade.
They won't design a 10 km 8% TT for him.
So this is a golden opportunity to check out this achievement - World TT Champion.

Reusser won the race with 43 km/h avg. I expect Pog or Remco to max out at 49-50 km/h avg.
Entirely in Pogacar territory.

These descents favor specialists; they're not technical. Remco struggles on technical descents.
And the climbs aren´t too hard. The Monaco climb was a long one, better for climbers.

Remco is the big favorite for today. I think some specialists made a mistake in not coming.
For the route, Pedersen would have been better than Vingegaard. The Road World Championships is tough, not because it's a stage of the Tour de France, but because of the cobbled section that climbs 15 times. Vingegaard wouldn't have been on the podium here.

Sub 50 kph increases Pog's chances. Due to the altitude climbing time will be a bigger fraction of the whole race than at the sea level.

These descents are very fast but short. I will say again, if Remco beats Pogacar, it's because he was similar to him on the climbs.

I have this feeling that pog will be underwhelming on climbs, when pog is not 100% he tends to underperform on climbs when he's on a TT bike. If pog is at 100% he's the best in the world on a parcours like this, but when he's not 100% he can do underwhelming performances in a TT like this, while on a road race he can win even if he's not at his best. I hope I'm wrong but he might pay that week he could not train and go to altitude before the canadian races

I didn't understand that travel. If he was going to give the race, it was better to train in good conditions.

it's happening exactly what I predicted, very underwhelming on the climbs, when pog is not at 100% he really struggles to push the watts on climbs using a TT bike
