Tadej Pogacar can become the first ever rider to have a CQ score of over 4000 if he gains 507 or more points during the Ardennes. He will have to ride FW to have a shot at this, though.

FYI
AGR and FW give 220/132/112/96/86/... points
LBL gives 280/170/145/125/112/... points

He also has 5880 pts in UCI ranking with realistic chances to break 6000 pts barrier (he did it once - 6101 last year for a week - but now can smash the record).

BTW: I noticed that since this year they award 800(!) points instead of 500 for a monument victory, it's almost a GT level (non TdF) but GT points will be increased as well.

Baldato on Pog's two peaks:
We have seen riders who can win Amstel Gold Race and Liège and win the Tour. With two peaks, it’s possible to prepare for the classics, and then recover, and then have a big chance at the Tour

Those Adrennes riders didn't smash the competition in February, March and in Flandres though!

Does peaking even exist anymore?

Nobody of those riders were Pog.

very merckxian. seriously.

well done pog.

(aside: wonder if anyone will bring up that he "only" dropped Healy and that the peloton behind couldn't get organized, wasn't really chasing/trying...? if they do, they shouldn't. ;-) )

So from his post-race interview it looks like he does FW next, historically the worst race he's done multiply. He wants the triple. But wouldn't it be better to recharge for Liege? (potential duel with Remco) It was a demanding ride today.

He confirmed it before the race today. Maybe in the Fleche he'll ride a bit more cautiously but it's Pogi we're talking about.

Wednesday will be a recovery ride, he will only have to go deep the last km.
