If we look at it ultra realistically, Pog is on a special level even compared to MVP for classics, Strade Bianche Pog, San Remo 65:35 MVP, Flanders 60:40 Pog, Roubaix MVP, Liege Pog, Lombardia Pog, whether people want to admit it or not if we include Strada in the monuments, Pog is the clear favorite in 3 races, two races are open and 1 race goes smoothly MVP

Pogs record in one-day races is truly amazing already.

3 Lombardias
1 Ronde
1 LBL + a podium

2 Strade Bianche
1 Fleche
1 Amstel
1 GP Montreal

Wins in Tre Valli Varesini and Jaen as well.

Podium in WC and Olympics.

Astonishing results.

Highest win percentage in monuments and intercontinental championships is ….. Remco Evenepoel.

Just thought you’d like to know.

He has a very good record indeed, but his sample size is still quite small and his best result at Il Lombardia which in theory should one of the monuments that suit him better is 9th place, so I would put him in the second tier of one day riders together with Van Aert and just below Pogačar and Van der Poel.

let's clear some things up: for classics and monuments there are the big three, which are VDP, Pog, Wout, and between those three it depends on the day and on what terrain they perform. For the Grand Tour, there are only big two, which are Pog and Vingo, Pog was created for the Giro, Vingo for Tour, Vuelta 50:50. for one-week races, there is only one big one, which is Pog, whenever and wherever he performs, he is a clear favorite. For TT, there are three big ones, which are Remco, Tarling and Ganna. everything else is looking at things ultra-fan and has nothing to do with common sense
Thats the most bearish statement on Pogacar I have read from you since you joined.

I agree that remco sits just below Pogacar and mvdp but can we please not bring him down to the level of Belgian pozzato. Remco is a world champion and double monument winner, van aert won a Sanremo in a photo finish 4 years ago. Since then Alaphilippe won 2 worlds championships. In the last 2 years wva is about the level of christopher Laporte in one day races

At this point, yes, technically. But Wout is always a threat to win, and he's often a fulcrum in the race, which gives him entree in my book.
I'd probably add Remco, too, for the same reason.
Agreed on Wout. Mechanicals and such has drubbed results to some extent. Also, if he were on a different team he’s also have very different results as there is usually a teammate of his up the road slowing his advancement at times

In the NBA dictionary, if the classics are defense and the grand tour is attack, then Pog is Jordan and that's where all the talk stops, the others are simply one-dimensional, it doesn't seem to me that people don't particularly appreciate that, cycling that we love and follow doesn't last from 1.7-23.7 but from 1.3 when the real season starts and ends with Lombardia. there is also the perfect Curry in attack (Vingo), there is also Tim Duncan in defense (MVP) and then there is Air Jordan (Pog) and whoever has a little salt in his head should not question it....

One question for forum members, do you think that Vingo canceled Strade Bianche out of fear that Pog would humiliate him like the others or because he wanted to spend 2 more days with his wife?😉😅
I think he took it for granted that he would be slapped like Kuss was. The increased distance also made it worse prep for Tirreno.

I would have preferred if his calendar was like that of Kuss.

And if we include San Sebastian in the monuments? Lol.
