Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

You really write some pathetic things at times. Why not keep things civil and without the crazy exaggerations. Then the posters you want to "shake up" would maybe take you more serious. I have a hard time getting hyped by your "information" when you are bordering bigot territory at times.
if he didn't say that, I apologize to you personally, there's no need for you to insinuate something that I said, I just spiced up my style a little with mother-in-law and buying a dress, because if I was direct, I would be banned

Completely agree! If you've ever ride in real cold you know what it means. Nobody - not even Pog - will set power PBs in those circumstances
Exactly, no one knows the exact extent that performance drops at sub optimal temperatures. But we know that activities above 1500m and sub 10ºc are going to result in reduced power output.

"However, the results of our primary study allow us to affirm that in cold environmental conditions, the athletes studied were not able to perform at their maximum potential mainly during the phases of climbing the circuit performed five times.

In fact, the interaction between normalized ambient temperature and the elevation gradient significantly modifies thermal (core temperature), physiological (heart rate) and performance factors (power output, speed and cadence).

If we were to make strategic recommendations for professional cyclists who must perform in cold ambient conditions, we would advise the following measures: (1) implementing training and practice strategies to provide performance experience in cold environments and to acclimatize to the cold by training in the same conditions to those that may be encountered in competition, (2) rethinking pre-race warm-up methods to allow athletes to increase their internal and muscle temperature prior to the start by reaching an optimal temperature, (3) adapting exercise drinks to the ambient temperature to optimize the hydration of the athletes in these conditions, (4) advocating a better management of clothing (more insulating clothing) to avoid the cooling of the skin and the muscles before the start of the race and during the race"

Bearing in mind that Pogs supposed Z2 is 5-5.5w/kg, he would have been at best in the lower end of that range whilst riding in the pack yesterday and subsequently not at optimum temperature before the climb even started. He was wearing less clothing than his competitors and still put 1min+ into them.

name me one race in the calendar but the entire calendar that is not the Tour and that you think that Vingo has at least a 20% chance against Pog, come on heroes let me see you. So how can he be the best when he avoids Pog all year and competes in races where he is not and only on the Tour there is a duel, imagine that Federer played only Wimbledon all these years and avoided Nadal and Dokovic all year and in the end who is better, the one who is 1st in the ATP rankings or the one who wins wimbledon
Would give Vingo decent chances at vuelta, Lombardia, and worlds. It depends mainly on if Vingo wins the tour again the desperation and seriousness he brings to the late season races

@mou infectious enthusiasm aside i do wonder if Pogacar will suffer the same burnout we saw last year in the Tour and the Worlds TT by showing this sort of form now, in Strade, in Liege and in the Giro and then to the Tour. Last year also showed us he’s not immune to crashes, so it may not all be plain sailing in the months ahead.

go back 30 pages on this thread and the answer to your question will tell itself, my little help for your question is the terms Javier Sola and Inigo San Millan😉

or did I fabricate this information, maybe the Chinese president passed it on to me, and maybe I'm a time traveler, there are a lot of unknowns, and maybe I'm screwing you all up and what Pog is doing now is just luck and I had no idea what would happen on Strada and yesterday, maybe

I get the theory - changing one Spanish trainer for another one. I get the empirical evidence - more watts. I get the good early season results- strade, yesterday. But, i don’t believe this is enough to justify wild optimism for the next four years. The best numbers ever adage has existed since i first joined this form. But Tadej has always had awesome fresh watts, he’s suffered in very specific circumstances against Jonas in the Tour with accumulated fatigue & potentially heat. I don’t think power files can show if he has an answer to that yet. He may do, but for that we need to wait for July and le tour de los cuatro grandes.

Pogi released his schedule first. The others scheduled away from him
I think Pog wants to win the whole lot, the GT’s and monuments and Worlds obviously but I can see him eventually going to try to win all the week races he hasn’t won yet, like Suisse, Dauphine, Basque, Romandie etc.

If he stays fit he is going to have a ridiculous palmares when he retires.

here I will help you a little, let's say that San Millan and Sola are chefs and they got on a plate the best quality food and spices in the world that no other restaurant in the world has and San Millan despite all that makes good food, tasty but the dish is not perfect, something is missing and the restaurant doesn't get 5 * because San Millan is a below average cook and when Sola gets the same ingredients to cook everyone is delighted, the restaurant gets 5*, everyone is shocked at how well the flavors are affected, pure perfection from the food and because that's that restaurant is the best in the world, with the best reputation, do you understand now?😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣

I know a guy who can almost sustain the same power in altitude(col de la croix fer 2067m), who can do it in cold conditions, without going full gas(imagine of he went full gas), 6.7 w/kg in almost 20 minutes(65 kg standard weight). This was the training version of 2023, this year can be better.

The experts can calculate this to sea elevation.

It would be really funny Xi Jinping was so invested in Pogacar-Vingegaard rivarly that is used China's military intelligence to hack Pogi strava and take a peak at his watts

I told you nicely that you will never know what the real truth is, I add a little something somewhere, I take away something to spice things up and raise the hype, which I achieved, I raised this thread from the dead and everything I said would happen is happening, and you now think what you want, no one has ever told a fairy tale to children without putting a little of their own flair into it, if you understand me
