Not sure if you anyone actually cares, but source of this is actually a press conference for the route presentation for the tour of Slovenia 2024, where Domen was also present and was asked questions.
Because it being a press event, there are many sources with the same content, specially the quoted stuff.
Here is one example: https://siol.net/sportal/kolesarstv...ej-pogacar-tako-dober-se-ni-bil-nikoli-630258

actually it's a collage of that and this: https://www.zurnal24.si/sport/kolesarstvo/pogacar-ima-novega-trenerja-416598 but I'm not sure what is the occasion for this interview, but this one is from December.
Appriciated for sure.

On another topic regarding Slovenia 2024, news about Pogacar doing it or will he skip it cause of the double?

Ayuso withdrawal from LBL but still down for Amstel and Flèche. More fuel to the fire of the contention by Mou that Ayuso will do whatever he can to avoid having to work for Pogacar.

It make totally sense and probably have nothing to do with Pogacar.

Ayuso going to Tour de Romandie that starts 2 days after with a prologue. You can combine LBL with Romandie but it’s not ideal!

Ayuso did the same before Itzulia Basque Country where he skipped Gran Premio Miguel Indurain to be better prepared for the TT on stage 1. A race he probably would have won.

And I’m sure it was the same reason he wasn’t riding Strade Bianche, with a TT only 2 days after in Tirreno-Adriatico.

Ayuso will leave the team in im the end of 2025. Next year he will do the Giro and will demand leadership in the 2026 Tour but Pogacar is the number one no matter what. Almeida and Ayuso have their destiny set.

UAE general manager Matxin is spanish and he buying more and more spanish riders and staff.
Ayuso is forsure super important to his project and have contract on him to 2028 + UAE and Ayuso just started a junior team together. (Just like Pogacar)

No way he is on the way out.

And there is enough big races to have both Ayuso and Pogacar in the team. Especially when Pogacar don’t even want to go to the Tour every year.

How do you know that? Source?

Don’t believe he/she has.
I think they seeing something there isn’t there.

I actually don't think that Ayuso should have to work for Pogacar at this point in his career. He's shown me enough to say he deserves to ride his own program. But he needs to step it up -- 4th to GC Kuss in his home GT won't cut it. Giro 2025 could be an inflection point in his career.

Another team? Could be an option but IMO that would only mean that Ayuso isn't good enough for UAE.

I understand what you mean about ideal prep for the opening day TT in the following stage race. The thing that makes it suspect for me is that in both SB and LBL it was listed in his program only to change without there being any injury or illness issues.

Watching one of Pablo Ordorica's videos, the Movistar marketing guy, I think he commented that Pogi was staying in a hotel in Picos Genil. This is at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, I understand that this is not doing concentration at altitude, right?

Is Ayuso good enough to demand leadership in a WT team? Absolutely yes. Is Ayuso good enough to demand co-leadership with Pogacar? Absolutely not.

I feel like him leaving UAE would make a lot of sense but then again having a great team to support you in whichever big race Pogi doesn't do doesn't sound that bad to me.
He shouldnt wamt the performance nerf of leaving UAE

Totally. He benefited from the domestique work of Del Toro greatly in both TA and Itzulia. The strength in numbers game was also a factor in his one day race success in the early season.

Ambition is a good thing but there needs to be a sensible reality. No point going to a lesser team to be clear number 1 but be isolated whenever it gets down to a group of 15 or fewer.

UAE let Yates chase the podium at the Tour. Thats all Ayuso should need to look at.
