Good and convincing win.
I am not saying Pogacar is not great. Obviously not. But as you also said - everything this season feels “expected”.It is early to say. I don't think he peaked for the Giro so it is a expected performance. One thing is important to say, he put 26 seconds after a comeback in the last 10 km and this margin is enormous for this type of climb. Prati di Tivo will give us a clear picture IMHO.
Strade didn’t feel expectedI am not saying Pogacar is not great. Obviously not. But as you also said - everything this season feels “expected”.
Because they put the 30 extra km in? Other than that it was copy/past of last time he won.Strade didn’t feel expected
Of course I didn't buy all the hype mou put in Pogacar. However, we tend to forget how incredible he has been this season. We are getting to the point where Pogi has disappointed when he doesn't crush his rivals by several minutes. What he did in strade bianche is incredible and can't be seen as "expected". Or even Vallter 2000, where he gained a minute and half in a fairly easy climb.I am not saying Pogacar is not great. Obviously not. But as you also said - everything this season feels “expected”.
Not sure, he just went earlier but it looked equally dominant in 2022, no? Or at least not like on a whole new level.Strade didn’t feel expected
Fair, maybe I am indeed to “hard” on him since he just does awesome stuff over and over again. Just not sure if Pogacar’s gap to his rivals became that much larger (if at all).Of course I didn't buy all the hype mou put in Pogacar. Today was a good performance but we need to wait for the Tour to assess his true level.
surePogi didn't look at his best today. 27 seconds is not as much as I expected and he looked a lot stronger in Catalunya. Was surprising to see O'Connor following him too
Probably took a bit of a breather between LBL and the Giro. Your form temparily goes down a bit as but it the rest pays off as you get back into racing.Pogi didn't look at his best today. 27 seconds is not as much as I expected and he looked a lot stronger in Catalunya. its all been stated. Hes racing the giro as a training block per Uae bosses long before it started. So ofcourse naturally he will only grow into it and the goal is to win and go out of it fresh and stronger than he was going in and fresh and build on that to the tour. Thats the UaE goal if it goes according to their plan.Probably took a bit of a breather between LBL and the Giro. Your form temparily goes down a bit as but it the rest pays off as you get back into racing.
Was n't there talk abot training at the Giro? After Vingegaard's crash I think UAE really thought that Teddy can do the double barring accidents. The crazy strong UAE team for the Tour won't be needed so much or might be changed. We'll see.Probably took a bit of a breather between LBL and the Giro. Your form temparily goes down a bit as but it the rest pays off as you get back into racing.
You have all the right to think this (personally I agree) but you ruin all your credibility when you say O'Connor was able to follow him. Dude, he completly exploded after trying to follow Pogi.Pogi didn't look at his best today. 27 seconds is not as much as I expected and he looked a lot stronger in Catalunya. So now we are going to debate whether 80km solo is expected or not? I’m sorry but I’m not doing that… You go and dig out how many times an 80+ km solo was successfully done in modern cycling. It doesn’t even need to be with 3 min advantage in the end. And then we can discuss how expected or unexpected it is…Because they put the 30 extra km in? Other than that it was copy/past of last time he won.
Day 2....don't get too frisky. Not sure he restrained himself near enough so my projected race strategy is already done.He didn't looked like a rider that wasn't going full gas. Especially last 2,5 km.
"not end of the world without your power meter....listen to your body". I knew I like this guy for some reason.
