Gotta love Poga's Old school-straight forward approach to racing. The man is truly part of that special breed that appears only once every generation. Hope he recovers well for the battles ahead
For me as a viewer it is always exciting to watch him race if he is in a decent enough form. But I see big problem dealing with Visma TDF strategy the same way as in 2023 and partly 2022 burning too many matches before the toughest stages.

I don't think he was the one who spent the most of the favorites today, nor do I think he thought about getting time. If Jorgeson and Jonas had worked with him until the finish line, they would have worn him down more and put time on his rivals.

No it was very obvious that Pogi handled the gravel better than Jonas and the battle for positions a lot better than Remco, so eventhough he ate some wind with Jonas on his wheel I still think he probably came out ok.
However he did spend more than he needed to for a 0 seconds gain on his main rivals. Which is obviously very difficult to avoid doing once in a while over 3 weeks of racing, and by doing that he also made the race harder for Jonas, so might be a worthwhile investment all in all.

easy race so far for pog.he looks fresh as a daisy, very different than last year.finally he isnot pulling anymore after jonas starts wheelsucking,he just stops and rests, lol.remco did take some shots at jonas
He is the strongest sure but the way he rides its impossible to not get excited about him thats the bottom line for me and more than that I guess its very telling why he has the palmares he has and others dont. Saw alot of people on social media about that yesterday without taking it further I think its quite telling.

Sure, his attitude might matter a bit, but it is easier to have that attitude if you are as strong as Pog. But most are not as strong as Pog and have to race with more brains to not risk blowing up, either on a stage or later in a the stage race.
When van Aert is in supershape we also see him being spectacular, now he isn't in supershape and can't be spectacular. Exciting or not mostly depends on capacity and form.

"Pog just love to race" is a phrase you hear a lot. And some might think: If others were just like Pog, how exciting it would be. But again, Pog is a phenomenon, who can do stuff no other rider really can't.

I agree all my critics from yesterday ive taken back from my point of view. But please understand this I only reacted cause I WANTED Vingegaard for instance so baaadly to ride away with him more so for him than Pogacar at the end it would be epic. All it was if you get me from me nothing else.

Holding anyone else to Pogacar standard its not reasonable or fair I agree ofcourse. He is a phenomenon and thus doing so its different from him than everyone else everyone knows so that others have no choice than to use strategies is only reasonable I get that.

I saw yesterday's stage and I was just realizing once again I was witnessing greatness. Hell, it was history happening, the kind of greatness that old Greek heroes had in the Olympics. Remco has some of that too, but seeing Pogacar in yellow just relentlessing going balls out to the front and gaping everyone is rewarding in its own right, even if he got towed back.

PS:
Vingo is just another puppet.
Visma LAB are an upgraded Sky
Gravel stages are a must.

Its very special to witness him and only someone who would dislike him for w.e reason would not recognize that were witnessing a very very special breed and history is obvious. Watching Pogacar drops folks when he lays it down when it is 100% on terrain like that which are flat..the sheer power he must have is hard for me to even understand. Makes me wish I could be on his wheel to just witness the warp drive first hand.

Yesterday, it wasn't the day to put time on his rivals. He needs to acknowledge that, wednesday is perfect, I have been waiting for his first big solo in this Tour. 12% slopes are perfect for him, if he can gain 10 seconds there to Vingegaard is game over for everyone! We have a long descent after that where he will increase the gap.

I think that if Vingegaard would've taken turns too, he would've dropped Vingegaard and Evenepoel eventually

He is so strong its hard to fathom indeed. He leaves the entire peloton in complete awe. and to their knees on a stage like this which wasnt selective even...its hard to imagine ----on top of that after he won the Giro with 10min..

We never will see a rider like him again its just insanity. Watched what Gilber and Lance and Thomas said today everyone is just on their knees blo.... him.
You need to pipe down a notch or two. Pogacar is truly amazing and I really love his attitude on and off the course but he’s not Superman and surely there will eventually come along someone who will be equally dominant.

The big thing I really enjoy with Pog is his ability to master different terrains and circumstances and his “take no prisoners” / “risks whatever”-attitude. He elevates cycling to higher levels!

After watching the stage 11 profile more I expect some form of attacks aswell from Pogacar. Also the way Remco went nuclear on that one hill on gravel stage think he will aswell try something on the sharp hills. He seems very strong not sure if its suits him? but time will tell. If Vingegaard went on the attack would be the most epic scenario and dropped everyone on Pertus. After the rest day on tomorrow stage all I want for Christmas is nice racing on stage 11 and not a boring stage. Its not that hard but maybe the easy stages up until stage 14 is enough reason to at least try something.

Someone equally dominant ? Maybe in 50 years

pog is racing smart, tactics is 4d chess.not high school algebra.yesterday attacks against isolated jonas are logical and he is gonna win attrition warfare there.look at the faces after stage.both attacks on san luca nad galibier very smart.minimal effort for gaps.having time gap before 3rd week forces jonas to go on attack and than pog just follows and counterattacks.just like tourmalet stage last year.pog is fully aware that 3rd week will decide and is waiting for that isola stage like newborn for moms titties, lmoa.

Also said this the stages so far hasn't been very selective or hard so far yet he has blowned them up even still. The eyes never lies.
Stage 4 was not the hardest mountain at least not with headwind, come stage 14 if the Giro fatigue hasn't kicked in its gonne be very ugly very fast when no one can follow his wheel uphill more than 600 meter without blowing up. Think aswell he is just waiting for stages 14 and onwards like a newborn baby im afraid off for the excitement.

For this reason, I can't understand why people expected Pogacar to win a lot more time. Maybe on San Luca but that's it. He still attacked on Galibier during a huge headwind and was able to break Vingegaard in a very shallow climb.
