Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Pogacar is the best rider of this generation and one of the best of all times. I love Pogacar as rider and personally, and I think he will win this Tour with more advantage he has now.

But of course it will be no a surprise if he lost some time, or even lose the ITT with Vingegaard (I dont think so becouse Pogacar is a better ITT rider) or even now I consider the possibility he lost the Tour. When I watched at the route in winter, even without considering any crash of any favourite and a best Visma team, I think Pogacar will win, becouse he is very good, and he can only have problems at long stages with lot of long climbs and no flat sections and with hot. The only stage I watched he could fail a little is la Bonette one, but it is short. For Vingegaard it is not easy to drop him becouse his attack is no so powerfull as Pogacar one. He need people like Kuss for that,a lthough Jorgesson could be close. But he is a better endurance climber if they are both well, so you never knows and everything still can happend. Wont be a big surprise for me...the same that if evenepole crack and lose 10 minutes. (I dont think so anyway)

I only said that Giro IMO is not a factor againts Pogacar, more the contrary. Landa did his best Tour after a good Giro where he was fighteen a lot everyday. He finished much more tired than Pogacar and he did spanish nationals. And even after le Tour, in Burgos, he was very strong.

Of course it has big merit the double he is likely to get, but not becouse he started le Tour worse than if he didnt ride Giro.

Hope I have explain myself.
I just asked jokingly. I disagree I dont think Vingegaard is better endurance climber than Pogacar, dont think he ever was I think that was duo to Pogacar beeing sub par level for himself for obvious reasons, you might be right in the past though but its hard to say Pogacar isnt the best endurance climber atleast now thats pretty given in my eyes atleast after the best climbing performance of all time and every single climb weve seen him this year its just nexl level. and this tour vs vingegaard too with best numbers he have ever had he rides away with ease..

As far as the Giro goes im sure you know more about that than me I just think its a tricky one someone explode someone dont its hard to say for me so ill just take your word for it cause I just know im no expert regarding the Giro-Tour double, find it to be tricky and a whole lot of varience from top tier riders trying it. All i know its not been done and properly for a reason in modern time is all. You might be right there too though.

You explained yourself better than me boss so no worries.

Good!

I think Ayuso got many enemies inside the team after this Tour.
I can't see he'll get a problem in the future on UAE. Don't think many riders want to be loyal for him.
The main problem is his self perception about his level is way above his actual level. He is not a top10 climber in the world and he was somehow trying to disrupt/challenge probably the best climber (or second best) cycling has ever seen

I think MSR, but especially PR is overrated in this part of his career. Plenty of time for Roubaix, but I don't think now is the time. After all, it requires some rather specific training compared to RVV and MSR even, and I don't think you wanna mess too much with thats going on right now. But then again, if his new training means he's FTP is that much improved, then why wouldn't that translate for Roubaix
If you want to be up there with Merckx I feel like you should win them too. Sanremo he was 4th and 3rd the last 2 years so they are very possible I would say.

But does he really have inside info like people say? when people quoted him here it say as down to the line much of it happened?

I followed him but is he joking or just have genuinly inside aswell cause then its just pure legendary.

Just look all his quotes from end of February 2024 to April 2024 in this thread. I admit he was offensive towards some of the users and constantly breaking forum rules but he was also funny to read. Seeing what I am seeing from Pogi this season it is hard to believe that guy would simply made everything up. So I believe he had to had some insight information about numbers, solution for heat and long steep climbing,...

Theres is no need for political answers to this. The answer is the best climber ever. Numbers never lie unlike the human brain can. While Vingegaard have climb the best numbers he has ever done Pogacar has ridden away from him on every single mountain with ease even its not like its actually close in reality.

Unless you mean Pantani but still same applies. Way different league.

given that he had the infection less than a month ago, Pogacar is well protected and will almost certainly not suffer a serious one given that it was already mild..the issue would be the team
Well thats true but its never a guarentee though. Its actually the biggest thing that can stop him, Covid is his biggest enemy now

Just hate that it exist, inviscible viruses affect these guys to much and I feel a increased in that from the GIro too been a thing since Covid came which is a real bummer just not whats exciting for us to watch

He already had Covid. Don't be afraid
''If you were infected with COVID-19 a month ago, the likelihood of getting reinfected soon after recovering is relatively low but not impossible. '' Following with reason why which i didnt copy paste. Also could be a cold and not covid and something hes not immune to just saying..Thats his biggest enemy now it really is.

Only thing im afraid of nothing else besides crash to stop him from taking the double as he is clearly better than the rest. ill take your word for it king and going fishing if he gets covid still its on you mate ;) If he dont ur the king still.

Two days fishing for me these stages shouldnt be the most fun hope its no random circumstances who have a affect for anyone in the GC untill friday. Stay free of covid peeps.

Relax man. I'm more worried about Yates and Wellens, he can't approach the final block of mountains without his most important domestique and only with 4 helpers to control the race. Hope they can recover in the next 2 days.
