Pogacar can't win every race he enters, since he can't win the world championships TT for example, against Remco.

Besides that, Pogacar needed a pneumotorax, collarbone, broken ribs by Vingegaard in April to win the Tour again. So, he can't win really win every race he enters.

Maybe one day, he will be able to beat a healthy Vingegaard in the Tour.

Just wait for next year ;)

Remco would trade both his olympic gold medals+his Vuelta win for a TDF win. The Vuelta is my favorite race of the whole year but the TDF is bigger than the whole sport. The Tour is not just a sporting event but also a political event (like Lance has said).
Ugh, I don't think you trade two Olympic Golds + a GT for a Tour, come on now.

He definitely would, in a heartbeat, trade it all for just one TdF win.

I don't enter in this childhood fight between Pogi fans and Remco fans but in my opinion for what I already read and listen from Remco is that the Tour is his dream and I'm pretty sure he would swap his gold medals in Paris for a yellow jersey in Paris.
You are factually correct and supported by the words coming from his own mouth. I dont think you need to prove anything or try to convince anyone that will blindly look the other way. That should be enough.

He has used that word several times for several goals over the years. Btw, I like both Pogacar and Evenepoel, so, at least when you're replying to me, you needn't worry about entering a "childhood fight."

Pogacar is just the best rider we will ever see in our lifetime and not appriciating that is yeah.. why some few make that hard is beyond me hehe, numbers even say it people really are making it harder than it needs to be for them thats for sure haha. He is the best rider you will ever get to see my tip is to enjoy it anything else would be rather weird.

Now also have Evenepoel coming up should also be appriciated as he is rather rare too not to the same extent ofc but a special rider in historic terms already which will only get better too, cycling is lucky now enjoy it.

Be smart and you can ride around in a yacht not everything needs to be hard and easy stuff like this certaintly isnt hard to understand when emotions are left out of it.

It's good to underestimate Pogacar, so that in the coming seasons the clashes between the best ones can be imagined to be more equal. Then reality will come, for better or worse.

As for the discussion, IMHO no way Remco would trade his double Olympic gold medals for one Tour title.

Definitely not.

We're in the minority here. That some think Ving is comparable to Remco in any way after winning a few Tours is just wacky to me. Their respective palmares are light years apart...and will only get more so with time.

I'll put it another way that highlights just how silly it is to suggest Ving is better simply because he's a Tour winner.

Would you take Carlos Sastre's record over Remco's? If he had won two Tours would that change your answer?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Only because this imaginary deal with the devil is the best chance he has of winning the tdf. I bet Pog would trade one TDF for being the first male to ever double at the Olympics, bringing his career tdf count from 8 to 7, because tours are a dime a dozen for him.

Trying to compare tdf to Olympics is such a pointless endeavor. But there have only been 8 Olympic games where the TT was held (starting 1996) and the double was achieved on the 8th try. It happens a lot fewer than once per 8 years that we get a Giro - Tour double. So Pog has him beat on difficulty/rarity, in 2024, I would say.
