Fabulous performance from Remco but hard work to shake off the conviction that Pogacar would at worst have held the wheel and been heavy favourite in a 2 up sprint and likely sroooed him on the final time up Montmartre.

Not sure why Pog would be able to follow since it wasn’t his type of profile at all. He didn’t have to go to the Olympics because he wouldn’t stand a chance. Now that Remco wins he suddenly could? lol, Pogacar has never shown to win such a race, against these type of riders in such a manner.

Everyone has a chance of winning the Tour. Unless Vingegaard and Pogacar crash out, he will not win the Tour. Gap is massive!

In fact both Vingegaard (2021-2022) and Pogacar (2023-2024) improved massively at 25.
Evenepoel already archie ved almost all of his other goals. Sure as hell he could improve like the others did.

Here's a big difference between Pog and Remco: Pog can win any race that he enters; Remco can't.

Pog has a good chance at winning Paris-Roubaix; Remco, not so much.

Remco does what he does very well but come on, he's not the next Merckx.

yes, Remco was closer to Vingo this year than Pog was last year. Much closer.

Everyone is so sure that Pogacar could have followed Remco, but somehow MVDP couldn't, when he's proved to be a better one day racer than Pog on courses like this. It's not just about legs in races like this. I guarantee Pog would have been marking MVDP and finished 3rd-4th, as usual.

Pogacar has 3 TDF and 1 Giro, including a double this year, winning 6 stages in each GC.

If you want to compare Remco with him, go ahead.

I like Remco, he did an awesome feat yesterday, but the gap between him and Pogacar is massive.

You can mock all you want, but Remco is not winning any Grand Tour Pogacar is competing.

But of course he can fight for scraps in the GT Pogi decides not to run.

It doesn’t take anything away from him, he is a great great rider. But he is no Pogacar.

if pog races its very different race.remco basically won with sneak attack after vdp was marked by van aart.belgium could go after bunch sprint or long range attack,thye played with house money.if pog was there,everybody marks him.belgium,dutch and denmark.slovenia would need to work from the start,while other teams wouldnot do ***.even vdp wouldnot attack,if pog is here.so pog needs to beat multiple teams to win.off course,if remco would be brave(no he wouldnot be) and attacked like yesterday,than its aesy gold for pog.but why would he.
