Bingo.

There is no need to do everything atm. It is unecesssey.

Not doing cobbles, opens up pretty much every other race for him.

Better to do a cobbles program in a couple of years, when he may ticked off most or all of the other races. Prepare for it, rather than trying to fit in now just because of it. I find it unwise as of now, but if he does it I assume they know best and will support.
I think he can race RVV without messing his climbing ability

I am surprised some want Pogačar to ride Itzulia instead of Flanders. While its a nice race that Pogačar has never won it is simply not at the same level as a monument and he will likely ride Dauphiné or Suisse next year so there is a good chance that he adds another of these one week stage races to his palmares anyway.

Not just that, assuming that Pogačar rides UAE, Strade, MSR, Itzulia, Amstel, Liège and the Dauphiné before the Tour, he will reach the Tour with 25 race days. This is not a problem if he just rides Worlds and Lombardia after, like this year but if he does ride the Vuelta, he would finish the season with around 70 race days, which is clearly above his average and could pay the price for that in the Vuelta or Worlds.

It is not about wanting him ride Itzulia instead of Flanders, it is about what fits better in his schedule. I just don't see him riding combination Tour-Vuelta-WC TT+RR -Lombardia next year. He will ride two GTs next year so i presume that would be giro. With winning itzulia this year, he can clear his shedule for E3-Flanders-P-R for every year after that.

If Pogačar rides the Giro then Flanders is obviously off the his schedule but I have not read anything about him planning to ride it in 2025, just the Vuelta, even though I personally like Giro-Tour more than Tour-Vuelta because it would give him time to prepare for both Worlds races and Lombardia.

Hauptman, his sport director said Giro is possibility, also Romandie. His Coach said Tadej wants to do Down Under , Vuelta and try P-R and complete all big 7 one week stage races but maybe not next year. Tadej said 1 week ago, he is thinking about Flanders and he will need to do UAE tour again, he also said he will do 2 GT next year. So who knows. Those and not rumors, he and his team members are saying those things.

He said he will do 2 GTs next year. He also said he would like to race RVV in 2025, so it's obvious he will not race the Giro and will race Tour-Vuelta.

If he wants to do the Vuelta+ WC (RR + TT) + Lombardia, I guess he has to go really light before the Tour and perhaps even slightly undercooked for the Tour itself.
I don't think he can fit all the mentioned races and be fresh for the Vuelta+WC's.

I guess there will be surprises once he releases his program and either la Vuelta, either some spring races will be dropped.

Someday in his career, he must win the Vuelta and next year is perfect specially after his Giro-Tour this year. 2026 and 2027 will also have a route made for Pogacar. He can maintain his shape for two more weeks. The only problem is GdL, 4 weeks later seems hard even for Pogacar.

I agree with you on the Vuelta. However, I don't think UAE-full classics season-Dauphine-Tour-Vuelta-Worlds-Lombardia is achievable and he'll have to sacrifice something.

That's basically peaking for 3 months after an already busy spring and I guess he'll have to sacrifice something. I think he'd choose the Vuelta. I hope I'm wrong but we'll have to wait a few more weeks to see.

UAE Tour (this race is messing with me)
MSR
E3 Harelbeke
RVV
LBL
This is a light program before Dauphiné. 11 days racing. He can rest a little bit after RVV, LBL is a race he can win without being close to top shape. But one thing I will tell you, if needs to sacrifice something, I hope it is LBL and not RVV even if his win in LBL is almost a sure deal if he shows up.

I want him to do LBL against an in-form Remco. That's one matchup I'm really looking forward to and I think Remco could give him a good fight.

I think doing the Vuelta would depend on how deep he goes in the Tour. If he cruises again then I don't see him having a problem with a second GT even that late in the season.

There is no fight between an in-form Pogacar and an in-form Remco so I prefer to see Pogi vs MVP in RVV.

I use to worry about a top notch remco, but the gaps in racing are clear on all terrains short of flat ITT
An in form Pogacar will drop Remco wherever he wants in LBL. You can choose between Roche aux Faucons or Redoute. Next year, UAE will take a huge upgrade in classics, specially hilly. Dead weight is gone and young riders like Del Toro, Christen and Morgado will be better.
LBL team:
Pogacar
Del Toro
Christen
Narvaez
Novak
Yates
And a rider to work in the beginning.
This team will put a hard tempo and will limit this race to sheer power.

It's not about that, but how it not fits in his schedule. RVV will drain his resources and preparation for other races.
Exactly.

Not lining up for RVV and PR is a small sacrifice in the grand scheme of things.

One of them being a race he has already won.

I rather he continues with a schedule that includes MSR, LBL, Lombardia, Worlds and two GTs. Add a big stage race that he hasnt won yet outside of that like Basque, Romandie, Suisse or Dauphine.

He needs to include time for rest and preparation for other races during the season. It just makes more sense to me.

Target RVV and PR in a couple of years.

Dont like that line-up.

I think Del Toro and Yates wont be in the LBL team.

Going by this years team... I find it more likely that Christen replaces Hirschi. Narvaez replaces Ulissi. Herregodts could replace Bax.

Novak is a solid dom so he should be there again.

Guys like Wellens or Sivakov are very good options for this race. Who didnt even race it last season. They would be better to pick for this race.

Then you have guys like Covi or Baroncini, who could get a final spot as well.
