Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Girmay, Matthews, De Lie and Nys will all be there in the easier semi selective finishes and the like of Remco, Roglic and Skjelmose can give it a dig on the harder ones.

I would still back Pogi on most unless some of those above step up hugely this year.

You really belvive that those guys can beat Pogačar? 🤣
Man, please stop this nonsense.

If Nys goes to the Tour he might end up being Pogi's biggest challenger on the hilly stages, he climbs better than any versatile sprinter and should be a bit faster than Pogačar in a sprint.
Oh really? 😂
Nys never won against *any* top rider and you think that he can beat Pogačar?

Stop guys, you just don’t know what you are going to witness this year, but even without…
Nys is just fan favorite on this forum, but he can’t beat Pog 2025, the best cyclist ever.

You may be right but if there is one thing I've learnt about Roglič is to not underestimate him on steep uphill finishes.
Yeah and who is probably the only top rider he never beat on that finishes?
Yes, you are correct, it’s Tadej Pogačar.

Maybe except Emilia 2023, but we all know that after Tour - pre Lombardia 2021 - 2023 is probably the worst Pog we ever saw.
Pog Tour 2025 is gonna be the best Pog we are going to see (so far).

it seems Jorgensen & co are still on the hangover from 2023 but one thing is for sure there wont be any gifts to their camp this year.

Jorgenson is great rider, one of my favorites, but he’s just delusional here.
Honestly maybe one day he can win a Tour, but not against Pog.

He didn't say beat. He said Nys is probably gonna be Pogacar's best opponent. And I agree with you even if I think Pogi will not have any rival but if I had to choose one it would be Nys too.

Plateau de Beille he did 6.98W/kg for 39min! And looking at the data parts during that, he already did 7.24W/kg for 23min(!) so its definitely possible we might.
There is a big difference between 7.24 w/kg and 7.5 w/kg. I also believe 2025 Pogacar will be better than 2024 Pogacar but not 0.26 w/kg. However, it is a MTT so I prefer to wait and see it. It would be marvelous!

It’s TT. That’s why he can do it.
He won’t be tired so it’s totally fine to do it.

Funny boy eheheh. Trying to fool me. But to be honest, he might be his best opponent in stage 6.
Bro, his best or hardest opponents in 2025 are multiple team tactics and their allies trying to wear out his team by collaborating each other. we already saw the glimpse in lombardy where every team realized they dont stand a chance so they send their strong riders in a 23 group breakaway. Thats the only way to stop my goat

Yes really, under the right circumstances.

I also guess that you haven't watch the Tour of Poland last year where Nys won the three hardest stages including putting a certain two time TDF winner on a gap on stage 1...

Nys is not a fan favourite in this forum (it should be pretty abvious which rider is), just look at the number of posts that his thread has, its just that some people have watched enough cycling to understand that a rider that gets 9 wins on 34 race days at 21 years old is a top talent instead of using low level arguments that 'he has never won against any top rider' when that isn't even true and he has barely raced in the WT due to his age.

The most hilarious thing about your post is that you got a bit triggered because I said Nys can challenge Pogačar in the hilly Tour stages but do you even think that ultimately matters? Nys is not a Tour rival anyway, Pogačar 's rivals are Vingegaard, Evenepoel and Roglič, if Pogačar gets second on a stage behind Nys and takes 6 bonus seconds on his real rivals, its advantage Pogi and if there is one thing where we both agree is that he should be able to win his fourth TDF this July.

Yea, fully fresh , even stronger than in 2024? I can see him getting even more than 7.5w/kg
Wiki has Pog's weight at 66kg. Using that:

7.5w/kg = 500watts (near enough)

From an historical point of reference, at the heights of the EPO era, 79kg Miguel Indurain was doing (I think?) 500watts when he did his "extraterrestrial" Luxembourg TT in the '92 Tour.

What weight are we assuming for Pog? If he is lighter that makes the numbers (slightly) more believable.
