Surely a bit more mass and power would help Pogacar in PR but I think the biggest problem is that Vans are faster than him and there are no hills for him to beat them before. He would have to rely on some luck (it can happen in PR of course). I definitely don't think he would be crushed though: he has an awesome engine and after some finetuning he would be a force to reckon with in PR.

It is better to take people seriously when they say that it would be a massive surprise if Pogacar won WC with a 50 km solo. Didn't you say you would never underestimate and underappreciate Pogacar if he did a 50 km solo? You don't need to answer me, you can just ignore me.

He should take both stage wins which will be 20 bonus seconds or a minimum of 8 seconds if the same rider finishes second both times.

Then it would only need 40-50 seconds on Jebel Hafeet which has happened before against better riders than he is due to face this year.

And didn't I say I was very impressed after it? That doesn't mean I don't listen to the rider himself.

Yes but this doesn't change the fact you are always seizing any opportunity to take a dig on Pogacar. You are doing this every single time. I also don't think he has what it takes (right now) to win PR, at least against MVP or WVA but I'm not saying he will get destroyed and it is obvious he would be competitive at least. We are probably talking about the best rider since Merckx so every indicator from the past suggest Pogi will not be "destroyed".
Can't you just enjoy a rider like Pogi (GT rider and a 66 kg rider) who tries to ride the PR in order to win (even if he fails) and give us more entertainment and more suspense before the race? You should applaud as a cycling fan to see a GT rider aiming for other races and not doing a traditional program like LA or Froome. Instead of that, you choose to be a hater and take another opportunity to take a dig on a fantastic rider who only wants to give us entertainment in every single race he aims.
You continue to have this inferiority complex about Pogacar, because your beloved and favourite rider was supposed to be what Pogacar is. Try to enjoy cycling instead of cyclists. You will be happier. I love Pogi but I know PR can hurt his chances in the Tour and Ardennes but I still want to see him in Roubaix (even if his chances are very slim) because cycling needs battles between Pogi, MVP and WVA.

Last Pogacar's race was 4 months ago so nothing to discuss. In October he destroyed everyone, hard to mock a rider when he is winning with 3 minutes advantage. So your last dig was obvious 5 months ago. It is stupid to discuss this, this doesn't add nothing to the forum.

What I'm interested in is Pogacar's performance in the UAE Tour and not all of this blablabla about Paris-Roubaix. We were told that Pog 2025 is stronger than 2024 so I expect these two results from him:
1. To win the ITT or finish maximum 5 secs behind the winner.
2. To beat the record of Adam Yates on Jebel Hafeet by at least 20 seconds.
Let's see if he has improved or Mou and the posters are delusional.

I expect a 10 km solo on Jebel Jais, like Rubio did 2 years ago.

I think Pogacar improved a lot last year but his TT wasn't better (at least significantly better) compared to previous years. So I don't think we can assess his level based on his TT performance. On the other hand, I am expecting him to destroy Jebel Hafeet with more than a 40 seconds gap to Yates's record.

Why delusional thought? UAE Tour is probably only stage race this year where he can go easy and try something new. I don't believe he is now in his top shape. At least he shouldn't be.

No I don't think 80% is enough. Bad version/form/shape we see from riders its still around 90%. 1 % is really big for every rider even for Pogi. Also i think, he needs to try something else on races like this one where he has nothing to lose and not going solo for 50km, because every time last year someone didn't lost touch with him after he attacked, he lost. MSR, Quebec, Giro 1 Stage, TdF 11 stage.

really you think? Like last year where he rode solo and distances vingagaard every time he wanted on whatever mountain he wanted with ease even. I agree with you, maybe he can distance the other GC guys at Jais, but lets see gonne be a nailbiter for sure.

More likely, hes not knowned for riding conservatively, would be high odds if he started now. That being said I suspect his form can be a slower ramp up than last year this time of the year duo to his program (remains to be seen) but his adhd racing style wont change for that, there wont be any sprint at Jebels jais.
