He got vaccinated today in Abu Dhabi against Covid, along with his teammates.

Lucky them, some of us have to wait until it's our turn. Let the elderly and the more at risk have it first. Suppose money speaks.

More here:

"UAE Team Emirates team manager Mauro Gianetti said last month the vaccinations were planned at the training camp.
Gianetti had taken part in the phase three trials of the Sinopharm vaccine.
The vaccine, developed by the China National Pharmaceutical Group, was approved for emergency use in the UAE in September."

So while it may look like they are cutting in line, UAE has had this vaccine available since September already. I'm sure they could have waited but if they plan to race in January/February then it makes sense to protect your riders if possible.

And also as someone else mentioned, since a lot of people are afraid to take the vaccine, having known personalities to promotoe vacciation is also a good thing. Someone who was doubting it first might see this and decide to get vaccinated after all.

It also appears that this vaccine is available currently to the general public there. You just have to call and request it. The Pfizer vaccine is only available to health care workers and at risk people. It sounds like they didn't cut in any line to get this one. One other thing to remember is that the vaccine they received is not available in Europe or North America and likely won't be.

If cycling aims to return to normality (fans on the road, media, etc) riders might be as exposed to the virus as some health professionals, so I don't really have a problem with them being vaccinated before me.

No word yet on where the newly signed Rafal Majka will race.
Yes, I´m also a bit surprised by that. If they mention De la Cruz, they should at least also mention Majka..

Otherwise I´m positive surprised that Pogacar doesn´t want to go only for the tour, but also for the vuelta. Let´s see if it will really happen...

Surprising UAE prioritice Kristoff for the Tour instead of a pure helper or perhaps Trentin when they have the defending winner. Sure he won a stage last year but that seemed very random and he was not really close for the rest of the stages and he offers very little as a helper compared to what Trentin could do if they wanted to have a fast guy also strong in the wind for instance.

Yeah.. the question is how they will use Kristoff in the race. He is a good classic rider, so it´s also a possibility to use him on the flat and the windy stages as a pure helper..
Question is, if Kristoff is ok with it.. ;)
