When I’m on the exercise bike at the gym I like to imagine a guy like that getting on the bike next to me and doubling the wattage without breaking a sweat.

He's been removed from the Tour of Slovenia startlist, but added to the Criterium Dauphine's. First act of this year's Slovenian Showdown.

Yup, I've seen it on PCS. WVA has also disappeared from Dauphine startlist. I do wonder on base of what did PCS make these changes, as I've not seen any info about either Pogi or Wout...

Same, with AF and the Giro as soon as Merlier was out Philipsen was added to the start list.

I don't think he needs both, it may even hurt his chances. He hits top form very quickly and without much racing (training is enough). Last year's ToS was enough and he was redlining in the first part of the Tour already. This spring he hit top form after just one race (UAE Tour).

Giro requesting UCI for a later date (by one week) so the double may become even more difficult in the coming years.
As for this year, I'm not sure. He was probably too strong in the spring to keep it up for so long (sharp form drop at some point likely)

oh yeah 100% would have been the target not racing half the races he has races to get close

This double is very difficult as he has to be in peak form during the Tour (because of Primoz). I think, to do the double Pogacar should be undertrained at the start of the Giro (bigger mass, worse form than he normally has at the season start) and try to win it with 80% form.
