It is just weird to me how in this era of watt gains UAE are just comfortable accepting mid level product when there's so much room for improvement.

I heard BMC is leaving AG2R after this year. I can't remember how long the Colnago contract runs, but this is a golden ticket if I've ever seen one.

Pogacar and co have been riding a new and better Colnago bike since this year, they switched from Campagnolo to Shimano and ride with ENVE wheels.

Ah yes, that was it. It’s holding them back severely. They’d be better off having kept their Merida from the Lampre days at this point. UAE doesn’t even need top of the food chain product, good enough would probably suffice for their amount of talent.

Someone once said that the way Pogacar rides is like a kid playing in a sandbox. I think he is beatable, but his dominance also comes from taking everything so lightly.

This bike looks reasonably fast. When you're climbing the transfer of power is more important than aerodynamics to Tommeke must be back on his old Party Train to think that's the most important thing on Tadej's tech agenda.

Eddy said "ride the bike, ride the bike, ride the bike" as training advice. They only make you faster when you are fast is the message. It took awhile to explain that to some tri-folks riding long rides on their aero setup at average 25kph....in a group. By the way... a group of tri-folks is 3, familiar riders. More than that is called Carnage.

I’m just surprised people went from the small advantages or disadvantages a bike can give you to now that’s ridiculous. While your equipment won’t make a bad rider into a good one, similar levels will see a difference if equipment is better for one over the other.

But really what is the difference at world tour level? Even the worst teams have bikes that are better, and set up and maintained better than any of you ever have.

This has nothing to do with bike or racing but I just have to vent this: for years I couldn't get myself to remember who it was that Tadej always remained me of since the first day I saw him, I knew there was someone. Today I finally solved it, it's this guy!

I think no one is arguing about different strands of technology in bicycles making a difference.
It was just the case that Boonen quantified that difference out of the blue like no one thought about that.

Edit: perhaps this will get out of hand and turns into a scapegoat for Pogacar underperforming, but that only shows how toxic and obnoxious people with media exposure can be. They are entitled to talk about everything just because they are celebrities.
