Die-hard fans (me included) know that he's a promising youngster from Slovakia.

The first stage is perfectly suited for Poga.
Yes, but it is the first stage and a lot of riders will want to try to win. Maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride in yellow the jersey for many riders.

It will probably cost a lot to win this one. I think the wise move would be to follow wheels. Let others attack. Maybe sprint in the end. All depending on how the race unfolds but a lot of riders will be fresh and go all out.

The last two kilometers average 9,4% whilst the last kilometer is 13%, too steep, no?

This seems too difficult even for guys like Laporte and MVP if Pog and Vinge engage afterburners. Would be good for an in-form Ala. Then again, they can still close the gap before the finish line and win (because Vinge won't be willing to cooperate with Pog).

What's for sure is that Pogacar is going to be tested hard at the first opportunity by Jumbo and Vingegaard.

There's no way they're going to wait for "the perfect opportunity" to see how fit he is if they can blow him up before.
----

With this in mind, sometimes the best defense is attack. So if Pog has the legs, he will be the first to attack at the first opportunity.

So, in all cases there's going to be something happening very early on.

So you are insinuating that the state of hesitating have been a trait of Pogi?

I think he means Pog is chasing form after his injury interruption. So Pog will still be riding into form early in the tour. That is when Pog would be most vulnerable to a JV ambush. If they wait until the 3rd week, he might have his best legs back and may not fall into the trap of Granon 2022. I still wonder what might happen on Loze (stage 18)?

Alaphilippe definitely licking his lips on a stage like this + opportunity to wear the maillot jaune.

Which interviews?
They are saying that Pogi is increasing his shape and that means (at least for me) he is not in his best shape. Like I said, I am assuming he still needs something to be in peak shape but there isn't time to do it.
