Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

No matter how much Pogačar has and will improve, how will UAE stop their competitors from taking similar leaps forward?

It's already been claimed on here that Van Aert's new approach could make him stronger than ever, and that an injury free Van der Poel have been able to up his game even further. Vingegaard has also improved every season so far, and Remco and Roglič are allegedly going to reach their best ever levels this summer as well.

Ullrich was also always on the verge of closing the gap to Armstrong, Schleck to Contador, and Quintana to Froome, yet it never really materialised before they were leapfrogged by other riders. That obviously doesn't mean it won't happen this time around, but I'm definitely less optimitistic than his new biggest fan.

Also if Pogačar actually manages to show the world who's the strongest, the clinic should explode for good reason.

You have no idea who Morgado is, but you will find out, slowly, you want to tell me when the breakaway attacks start on the medium mountain stage after 5-10 km on a 4 km hill of 7% that Felix Groschartner from Morgado will connect it better 🤣🤣🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, let's get serious, Morgado rests on these flat stages and starts working on medium hills in the first 50 km of the stage until an acceptable escape is created, Morgado is Soler+Wellens, explosive enough to immediately cover attacks and durable enough to he can keep a good pace, if he's not the ideal helper for the 2nd week of the tour, I don't know who is

Question, I find it hard to believe a random cycling forum member has access to performance data of riders. Has @mou clarified how he has access to this information?

No, but he has shown a link to his Twitter where he has a screenshot of one of Pogi's power files.

And even if the grammar could need some work, there are a lot of relatively convincing points so it's hard to believe there isn't some inside information going on.

Which more than likely means once the team management find out how and who this leak is, things will implode bigger for him/her/them than Watt bombs Pogi will put down on the Cipressa.

So he has no working relationship with the team or any of their riders but has access to athletes performance data.

It's like you deliberately don't read what people are saying. No one is saying Morgado isn't good enough.

You didn't even believe me that the best Pog ever would appear on the Strade Bianche without even a single preparatory race on one of the most difficult classics, and what happened? Some eyebrows were raised at 81km to the end, weren't they, boys and girls? little by little, you will all come to my story, no one from the UAE will ever discover me because there is a fake profile on X and I will never betray the person who gives me the information, maybe because he is my brother, sister, father, who will know what is the truth😅

So he's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't in your mind? Great.

I can still remember how people accused Pogi because he was riding great TTs. He's to light was the reason. Now Vingo rides great TTs weighing 56kg. And hasn't cracked once at the last 2 TDFs. And yet if Pogi manages to win (which I seriously doubt) , the clinic will explode? I don't get it....

I was asked by my source not to publish the Power profile anymore because he/she might have problems and I'm not here to cause problems but to convey to you what problems Vingo and the rest of the peloton will have in 2024, but rest assured that you have an insight into what I I have, it wouldn't be good for you, this year the Tour will not be celebrated in Denmark

think whatever you want, if the numbers say that Morgado is better than Soler, then Morgado goes, if you didn't know, Morgado shows phenomenal numbers in terms of endurance at the training camp, he is young, fighting and will die for the team, the same for Pog at the Vuelta At 19 and a half years old, they said he was young, he couldn't last 3 weeks, and he finished 3.
In which alternate universe was this? To my knowledge Pogacar only rode one Vuelta, which he finished one week before turning 21.

Sh*t.

I already mortgaged the house & bet everything on Mads Pedersen winning the TdF.

Well if he wins more big races, he'll have a better palmares, so that won't damn him.

It seems you guys are paying more attention to the last part of my post, than what I had intended.
We're obviously not allowed to discuss the topic here, but if it sounded like I was judging him harder than other riders, I can tell you that I view all successful riders completely the same (well that isn't true, cause I probably judge the Danish riders harder). However it's not exactly unheard of that big performances lead to more traffic in the other part of the forum.

As a Dane, I won't complain, cause there has probably been celebrations enough for around 800 Tour wins in the past few years.

Imagine wanting to send a 20-year-old, in his first year on the world tour, to do the tour of France. What a spectacular way to manage a young cyclist's career. Fortunately, the Emirates staff still has their senses. And yes, I know the capacity of the morgado.
I like Morgado but I think that the Tour is too important for Pogacar to take the risk of bringing Morgado. As good as he may be, he's never raced a grand tour let along the Tour de France, which will likely be raced at an infernal pace.

Del Toro would be a slightly less risky bet, I think, given that he's adapted to very high level WT racing basically immediately, but both is a step too far.
