He said he will try to do Giro-Tour-Vuelta one day! Ahahah, can't wait for that.

He might need a bit more than one day...

So... why is the UCI even bothering with announcing the nominees for Velo d'Or? Pretty obvious, isn't it?
He was already the first rider in recent times to win the Giro-Tour double, and then he added the Worlds on top of that + two Monuments and a gazillion other wins.

Roglic said he will try to avoid Pogacar next year and for that reason he is inclined to race the Giro. This is not a good new, 3rd best gt rider is running away from Pogi. I just hope Vingegaard goes to the Tour only and we will probably have the best fight in recent years with Remco, Roglic, Almeida, Ayuso, Rodriguez. They will all avoid Pogi.

Roglič said it as a joke. Even if it would be a sensible thing to do and also a realistic one.

Pog being invincible could be a blessing for the giro. Been consistently *** for half a decade now. Would love an class A giro slogfest between the non-jonapogs there. Give us a real giro route though. Keep the tour as the great showdown, and the vuelta will always be the late season form-bingo (except if an off-form pog shows up to scrape through with a shaky 7-minute margin). Not too shabby!

2020 Giro was very interesting in my opinion. Since then, it has been a total garbage.

What Pog does right now, is a proper snooze fest. It's so predictable and boring (like F1 in Schumacher Ferrari era). You know, he can jump anytime he wants and no one can follow. Another xx km solo for the win. If that's not boring, i don't know what it is.
Whats more boring is when the rider who can win with a long range attack gets a free taxi ride and then attacks in the last few hundred metres.

I'll never understand why folks want a return to the Armstrong/Skytrain eras.

Fair enough, 2020 was a classic. That rohan dennis stelvio stage was pretty close to the perfect giro experience imo. But then again, 2019 was also terrible. I still have nightmares of nibali and rog finessing themselves to narnia

He was talking serious in a funny way. There is no doubt riders are getting hopeless when they face Pogacar. Even O'Connor said he didn't feel involved in the Giro because he couldn't do anything against Pogi. And somehow in the Vuelta, he felt part of the race

I saw this funny guy say this among many others on twitter. Of course pure speculation and fun at this point nothing else, from experience the team have most likely not put pen to paper on that already.

POG 2025
Strade Bianche
SanRemo
Flanders
18 days altitude Sierra Nevada
LBL
Giro
21 days in Isola 2000
Tour
Quebec-Montreal
Rwanda
Emilia-Lombardy

Vingegaard still managed to increase his level between 2023 to 2024 despite his crash just 3 months before the TdF.
So I´m wondering what level can Vingegaard reach if he manages to increase his level again from 2024 to 2025 + isn´t injured.

In my opinion he is still no match for a peak Pogi, but, if he can be within 3 minutes of Pogi by the last mountain stage this is still dangerous, luck, tactical mistakes can always play a part...

Giro will also go to slovenia another trigger, its all just speculation ofcourse. And Pogacar love riding in italy above all places not hard to fathom if people knew how italians look at him, ive never seen anything like it in any races ive been to since Pantani but he was italian. They just love him in a godly fashion, he is already twice as popular as anyone everywhere but in italy its something almost like hes a god. Strade and two stages in the Giro ive never seen anything like it only the pirate he also had that godly aura there but at least it made a little sense since he was italian. Remarkable experience.

If he goes to the Giro again or Strade i recomend going at the course at some stages for an extrordinary experience.

Wouldn't be suprised if he skips the Canadian races next season.

But if Pog is bored between the WCC RR and Lombardia he could also go for the ECC RR. Not sure if that is doing much for him palmares-wise but it's at least better than another win in Emilia.

9/21 WCC ITT
9/28 WCC RR
10/5 ECC RR
10/11 Lombardia

Vindegaard's rushed recovery no doubt included prescribed drugs that would need to be cleared to be legal to race. That also could lead to some more permanent impacts that now will take even longer to overcome.
Johann Museeuw was a monster on his return to PR after almost no racing...as were his two accompanying teammates. He won that in 2002 and many, counting this poster were wondering how that happened. He didn't have significant results after and retired in '04.

Ahh. I see that is @mou! He is bullish on the giro as training for the tour. Wants to see it every year. I can’t say I disagree. Gets a bag of cash too from rcs

Yeah, but with races there is a - however small - possibility that something could happen.

With the Velo d'Or the people in charge of deciding have probably already decided.
