Wellens also was nowhere before he came to UAE.Poggio probably too easy for Narvaez to be the difference against the top guys, he was nowhere last year and you need hard tempo grinders and Jhonny is more a man for a steep rise/medium mountain

I read many of those „Tadej can’t do it” stuff. Almost every single one were laughable since the very beginning for me and at the end of the day he denied all of this stuff.Poggio probably too easy for Narvaez to be the difference against the top guys, he was nowhere last year and you need hard tempo grinders and Jhonny is more a man for a steep rise/medium mountain. Difficult to see a route to victory in MSR, can't drop heaver riders/better descenders by enough by the top, opportunist last 2k attack like Stuyven won't work because he's too high profile and will be marked, WVA/VDP or better beat him in a reduced sprint.
Either spend a week riding the Poggio descent and learning every corner such that 10 seconds at the top is enough, or go on the Cipressa and hope to god you can keep Evenepoel (when he's not injured), Ganna, Kung, Tarling or someone like that with you who doesn't want it going to a group sprint. He can hold off Van Der Poel but not 50 guys for 40 minutes.
Too much needs to go right in this race, the Poggio descent is just as important as the climb. This race never suited anyone more than Peter Sagan, and he never won it.
He wants to win a cobbled classic, can it be Omloop for example. Of course he knows he won't be able to contest RVV because Pogi is the hot favourite."I actually prepare every year with the aim of following Van der Poel and Van Aert in the cobbled classics. If you can't beat Van der Poel and Van Aert alone, you can succeed as a team. With UAE Team Emirates XRG, we have a strong core for the Flemish races. We have several cards to play.""I dream of winning a cobblestone classic with UAE Team Emirates XRG. Something that was not possible at INEOS" - Jonathan Narváez
Jhonatan Narváez has shown clear evolution over the past few years at INEOS Grenadiers and became a quality puncheur - who beat Tadej Pogacar directly at the opening stage of the Giro d'Italia this ye...cyclinguptodate.com
Cmon jonnie in cobbles there is only one king & its pog but if u're trying to play the hide & seek game like the spanish kid in those races then its gonna be more bad than good for you.
To be fair there are plenty of cobbled classics that Pogacar won’t be present at where Narvaez can aim for his own result such as during opening weekend."I actually prepare every year with the aim of following Van der Poel and Van Aert in the cobbled classics. He isn't referring to omloop or kurne where mvdp isn't there but like last year he wants to follow mvdp on E3 or podium flanders. When pog is at these races everyone has to work like a dog there is no need of tactics and numbers game when there is the goat in the race 💯To be fair there are plenty of cobbled classics that Pogacar won’t be present at where Narvaez can aim for his own result such as during opening weekend.
He clearly stated in races Pogacar is not in. I think Narvaez will be gold this year and a very good domestique outside classics even, he already strong and he has gotten Sola as coach."I actually prepare every year with the aim of following Van der Poel and Van Aert in the cobbled classics. He didn't state anything u said in this article, infact its the writer who stated it would be very hard for him to have a leading role in the team.He clearly stated in races Pogacar is not in. We cant execute every rider based on how journalist interpret their article's. Thats premature. He didn't state anything u said in this article, infact its the writer who stated it would be very hard for him to have a leading role in the team.
This year Tadej Pogacar will race the cobbled classics including Flanders so it will be every hard for him to have a leading role in the team, but this could potentially happen in the future, whilst he may have freedom in other World Tour classics. "I won't say it's impossible to win the Tour of Flanders one day, but it will be very difficult. I would be very satisfied with a podium," he concludes.
You're bringing another interview i was asking from this interview and speaking of ayuso he didn't think he would win the tour in 2024 and that's not why he didn't follow the orders but he thought he would lose his podium or top 5 chances by working for pog which is what i was relating with narvaez that he & his co should work like a dog for pog without having a second thought for their personal chances like yates and majka does for the king💯We cant execute every rider based on how journalist interpret their article's. Thats premature.
He also said this recently '' I think that, at least in the races where Pogacar is not there, we still do not have a clear favorite or a designated leader. However, I cannot say that I am a leader, I will have to earn it. In the first part of the year, I'm really excited to do the classics. The cobbles and then also the Ardennes . Then the Tour de France to support Tadej Pogacar.''
Imo I refuse to believe anyone is that stupid they actually believe they can win if they are with him, noone is that stupid bro, he all about the money and wont do a Ayuso suicide. He will pretty much be with him every race he aint that stupid, he already licking Pogs balls dw.
I get it, and ofc I agree and your right my point is just that its way to early he might turn out to be like that aswell, we dont know - he can be like that while simultaneously having dreams and goals doesnt need to be bad, Yates have it aswell. Lets see first.his co should work like a dog for pog without having a second thought for their personal chances like yates and majka does for the king💯
Where did you see that?@Peyroteo94, Van Aert isn’t riding MSR so discussion about Pogi dropping Van Aert on Poggio became pointless.
If he is really thinking about winning RVV, he will be at home. You are right, there is no need of numbers game when you have the strongest guy. He just need loyal doms to rip the peloton and burn MVPHe isn't referring to omloop or kurne where mvdp isn't there but like last year he wants to follow mvdp on E3 or podium flanders. I look to his arms and I think he can lose 2 kilos and become a better climber. There is no need to be so bulky in his upper bodySwitching team I think can benefit him alot and if it does and he takes a big leap like weve seen from other examples - He already strong, has good weight and I think UAE will improve him alot in climbing making him a valuable two way domestique and positively surprise alof of people at the end of the year.
Where did you see that?
This is probably his 2024 schedule. I think he will race MSR this year but he will do a altitude training camp in March so no Omloop and KBK.That's on PCS. His schedule is Omloop, KBK, RvV, PR, Giro and Tour.
I don't believe he'll skip San Remo but then again, I didn't believe he'll skip it in 2024 as well.

He missed it last year and now it isn’t on his PCS programme and also team didn’t even mention MSR on his schedule.Where did you see that?
He is a hot favourite to win MSR. He would be very stupid if he is going to miss itSurely VWA has learnt his lessons from 2024. There was no reason for doing an altitude camp in March and miss races.
Tbh if he is doing an Altitude camp instead of msr that would be a smart decision given his biggest career goals are rvv and roubaix. If its true that he was competing with vdp in 2023 rvv and roubaix without altitude, i think he should go and find that extra2-3% at altitude given his gap to vdp is minimum. If anyone thinks vdp is physically so superior to wva, i think he should go back and see 2022 tour wva who did an altitude training and i dont think this vdp would drop the 2022 wva. So i think its again a smart decision from visma but unfortunately there is one guy who belongs to a different planet, who doesn't need altitude training for his spring quest and who will shred the field like they are bunch of kidsHe is a hot favourite to win MSR. He would be very stupid if he is going to miss it
