I already said this but he can finish this season on the podium in all 5 monuments.

It makes me wonder how many more monuments Sagan could have won had the racing been like this in his era where the top riders just ripped in early instead of leaving it and getting done over by the numbers game.

Had leaders just leapt with whoever attacked first from Quickstep the Wolfpack reputation would never have gained ground.

What monuments would Sagan have won if the strongest rider always wins the race? The two monuments he did win were tactical wins where it's completely open whether he was even the strongest rider in the race. I guess you might be able to argue he was the strongest in RVV and PR in 2017, but that's again not at all clear and in the case of PR the reason he lost wasn't even tactics. It's incredible how much people are overrating Sagan now that he's retired. He was nowhere near where Pogi and MvdP are today.

I was a hige Sagan fan but he is nowhere near the level of MVP or Pogacar

He is at least a tier below but I still think that the tactics would have benefitted him.

It’s hard to directly say which ones because the race dynamic is so different now that, particularly as team strength was often an issue for him, the way they race now would fit him better.

Given how conservatively LBL was raced in his prime era he should have focused on that and I think he could have gone better there than against Boonen/Cancellara on the cobbles. Punchy climber Sagan vs the GC types was easily the most exciting version of him to watch.

Without a doubt. MVP and Pogacar can put minutes easily into everyone.

Quite a successful first time at PR, he gave it a good try and came close to winning.

yes it does, he's quite unlucky to have come across the strongest pr rider ever (in my opinion) but I think one day he will win this race

Pog fans, calm down we dont have to feel down from todays outcome. What our king did today was unbelievable. For a tour guy at 65 kg being equal strong with a guy 10kg heavier & probably the best on spring classics on flat cobbles is insane. If today was a tour stage gc would've ended for ving & co. To win roubaix & msr our king just needs to add around 5 or 6 kilos & we will cement his status as the goat & the whole world will agree but for now he should focus on winning 5 tdf and will start up to add the kilos

I am very proud.

And I was relaxed.

But once I read VDP cheated, I am pissed. Disgusting cheater, lost all my respect to that guy. Cheater.

Excellent showing and he seemed to enjoy the race at least until the crash. Chapeau to MVDP, kudos to Teddy, I hope they'll both be back at P-R next year.

He got caught and received a heavy fine, alongside his boss.

I'd argue the only times he was clearly the strongest in RVV or Paris Roubaix are the exact times he won them.

It is hard to say the race suits him when it completely negates his best trait.

I think most people said he could compete but that with it being a flat race he wouldn't be able to handle Van der Poel.

Best part of the season is over and I can't wait for the next season to see Pogacar vs MVP all over again! Until now, classics season have been a solid 9 out of 10.

It's crazy that Pogacar is the rider that strikes fear into powerhouses like Wout, MVDP and Pedersen in the spring and does the same to riders like Remco, Jonas and Primoz in the summer. We are witnessing history and should just enjoy the moment.

Keep calm, no one thought he would break his hand in LBL but he broke. And the Tour-Vuelta can definitely hurt his chances in Rwanda and GdL. He can't softpedal just like he did in the Giro 2024. At least I expect a strong Vingegaard.
