Honestly I hope he still does FW (would be a pity not to have the guy there who would be the favorite) and then he'll probably do LBL but only attacking on RaF not wanting to risk another race like this. I think if he does that he'll be fine and win solo or have another sprint against Remco.

I am a cycling fan before everything else and Pogacar doing more races is better for the sport than Vingegaard, who only shows up in the Tour (this year).
ofc but the point is that his rivals only focus on few races, and he has to be smarter in his race selection, ok doing classics + GTs but only focus on the big ones!!! now he risks loosing liege and having only one monument despite having a crazy level for months

The mistake was called Paris - Roubaix this year. Pogacar should stop ignoring Gianneti.
I dont blame him for wanting to try.

It was a good attempt. Not mad at that.

But he probably shouldnt have been racing here or in the upcoming Fleche race.

Only done LBL after PR.

In the future, if he wants to have another crack at PR. He probably shouldnt aim to also do Ardennes or at most only LBL.

He said at the start he took it easy this week trying to recover from roubaix. Maybe that was the reason but if the past years experience is to go by mvdp also wasn't performing on amstel after dominating PR so fatigue might also be the case

I thought he would wait until Keutenberg. Actually believe he was a bit suprised that he and Ala got away so easy on Gulperberg. Mabye he didn't plan to go so early but when the situation devolped as it did he went for it.

I said he was the least prepared for these races and it was going to be tough after PR.

He was still very good, dont get me wrong, but as I also said yesterday... taking on every race could lead to being close but not winning them.

At the end of the day, he wants to win them.

Thats why you need to manage the schedule and sit some races out in order to maximize his chances to win those races he does partake in and not doing everything. A couple of big races he will have to sacrifice every year, in favor for others.

Maybe this year he should have sat out Ardennes and later Vuelta. Or just done LBL when it comes to these races.
How can he be least prepared like for example Remco when Remco just comeback now from a serious crash?

He is cooked after flanders p-r double
PR leaves everyone cooked. All the rides who do PR say that's the next week after PR is the worst of the season

Last year, Van der Poel didn't move at Amstel and said he was exhausted.

We'll see how he recovers for Liège, but the positive thing for him is that I don't think he'll be any worse than today.

He should be better for Liège, but he should skip Flecha.
It's a 1 km effort, but it's 250 km of competition. It's a race he's won, and with his palamares one more or less FW it doesn't mean he should risk Liège.
