I think the GOAT could use some sprint technique practice. At Amsel, his upper body seemed completely uncoordinated from his lower. Of course, he was exhausted but it looked terrible.

I think he should ride defensively and trust in his team even if Remco goes away. Teams will have domestiques to maintain the gap under 30 seconds after the second Huy.
Not if it's Remco. If Remco gets away with a big enough gap he'll probably win.

A question for Pog's fans.
Do you remember the race or moment when you became a supporter?
For me it was the stage in Andorra in the 2019 Vuelta when he dropped Soler and Quintana.
Same but Tour de France 2020 is where he became my favorite rider. It was embarassing to see Roglic wheelsucking all the way to Paris but he ended being destroyed in a TT tailormade for him. Amazing moment!

I think he’s generally considered the best sprinter or climber groups no? He was just smoked from P-R
It doesn't help when you've spent a lot more energy than the other two, the recovery before the sprint is fairly short, and if the sprint is long with someone being able to come out of your wheel. It's how Pogacar beat Pedersen at the 2023 WC and it's how Skjelmose beat Pog now.

2020 tdf caught my attention. Fresh faced newcomer. But it was a strange covid calendar so I wasn’t sure what I was looking at.

Then 2021 came around and the rampage began. He seemingly had endless form around the calendar which was unusual and astounding to me when he won the second tour. I was all in. I knew this was good for cycling

Not if it's Remco. If Remco gets away with a big enough gap he'll probably win.
If Pogacar decides to follow him, he won't drope him.
If he didn't drope at Amstel when Pogacar was cooked, even less at FW, which is a simple circuit. That's why they often finishes in a hill sprint.

And in a hill sprint, I doubt Remco will beat him. Nys could win, but I don't see Remco winning a hill sprint, and finishing alone will be difficult for him unless Pogacar decides he wants to rest for Liège and isn't interested in going 80km together.
Look at Pogacar's sprint at Jebel Jais this year, Remco has never done a hill sprint like this.

Remco will be to break the race, while Pogacar, tired after Roubaix, will settle for a sprint as in 2023. Nys could beat Pogacar, but not many anymore. Remco can't beat Nys, and I think neither Pogacar of Jebel Jais.

His team for FW doesn't include Narvaez. I think he ended his spring season.
So far, Narvaez's signing has been disappointing.

He won at TDU, but he wasn't signed to beat those rivals there.
He's had many crashes in the classics and disappointing performances in the opening weekend.

Seeing his accidents and his poor performance in Paris-Nice, I don't know if he´s the ideal domestique for TDF.
Last year he was a good domestique for G. Thomas in the Giro but the demands with Pogacar are much greater than with G.

He was very good in MSR. Unfortunately, he had nasty crashes in RVV and AGR so we don't know how good he would be. However, I agree with you, Narvaez can be important in the first week but he will not be relevant in the high mountains.

Opening Week was before the accidents and it was also disappointing.

His Paris-Nice was terribly bad. That was before the crashes.
I'm not convinced he's a domestique for TDF

Ironically, UAE is winning more than ever, with some inflated statistics in smaller races, but Pogacar is finding himself more alone than ever this year.

In the TDF mustn't repeat what was seen in the classics.

We all know Remco will attack from far out so I hope Pog just sits on his wheel to see all the "wheelsucking" comments unleashed. But Pog will probably ride and unfortunately, I can see Remco dropping Pog before the final time up the Mur.
I get a bit of Lioran Deja Vu reading some of this.

In FW, it's very difficult for them to drope Pogacar .
He can lose the sprint againts Nys for example, but Pogacar would´ve to be much more exhausted than he was at Amstel to be drop on a circuit like FW.
Amstel was a more suitable course to drope him behind when he was as coocked as he was, and they didn't do it.

I really noticed him at the Course de la Paix 2018, but the answer to your question it´s also in La Vuelta 2019, especially the final stage he won in Gredos.
It was incredible to see a long-distance attack to a podium finish.
It's more common now, but back then it was less common in a GT.

His achievement in the 2020 TDF was incredible, but due to his age and being without a team against a very powerful Jumbo that blocked the race, it was a race of pure survival for him.

The 2019 Vuelta a is a greater reflection of what Pogacar is today and his influence and today´s cycling, especially in GT

This image of Soler is from that day in Andorra that you mention

Yes, but for the TDF what was seen in Paris-Nice is worrying.

In the Classics, we only saw him in San Remo; accidents have prevented us from seeing more.

He should be in shape to help out in the TDF. In the spring, it seemed like he was too fit to win the TDU.
This is what happens to them in the UAE, when they want to win every race.
In the important Classics, when they really should have been in better shape, they've been missing due to accidents and poor form on the part of some.

TP should have been Laureas sportsman of the year. Duplantis is a great athlete but what Pogacar did last year was remarkable.

Without a doubt, Pogacar's achievements are difficult to surpass in his sport over 30 years, as has been the case since Roche, and Pogacar´s season is better.

Duplantis's record is impressive, but he could achieve a greater one and winning the award.

Nowadays it seems impossible for a cyclist to be awarded.
At least they´ve awarded Duplantis in the Tennis and F1 award.
