Not a surprise given that last season his main targets didn't even start at this point.

And still last year this time he had 6 wins, compared to 5 this year.

Thats true also by end of next month he will also have a worse season no matter what since last year he had won the Giro.

But I just thought it was interesting to know

It's a more complex calendar.

But in San Remo, the same result.
Flanders won it again.

He didn't win the PR; it's incomparable to Volta a Catalunya. This year, he wuld´ve won any of the one-week race at this time.

And obviously, he won't be able to win as much as he did in the Giro unless he does the Vuelta.
I've seen comments on x about pure statistics. Obviously, he'll arrive at the Tour with less victories. Between Catalunya and the Giro he won 10 stages and two GC

But the feeling isn't worse.

Some in X are getting excited about a supposed crisis because he has fewer overall victories.
Based on what we've seen so far, it's hard to say he's worse off than a year ago. It's a completely different schedule. We won't see his level in mountain until the Dauphiné.
But even last year at the Giro, they underestimated his climbing because of rivals. And at the Tour, on Lioran's day, they said he wouldn't win the Tour.
Until the middle of the Tour, some still underestimated his level; this year, without seeing him climbing...

They're not taking into account that Pogacar hasn't focused on altitude this year, unlike last year for the Giro.

I think too many conclusions are being drawn for the Tour because this year he has less wins in races that haven't had mountain stages.

Remco has done altitude. Although Pogacar isn't a rider who do a lot altitude for the Classics, the Ardennes are a Classics where most of his opponents have done altitude.

For the Tour, he'll do altitude. That's where his climbing ability will be seen.
At this point, it seems premature to say that he's worse than last year, when his best form was reached around this time because he was heading to the Giro. However, this year his worst shape of the spring is in the Ardennes because he reached his peak form for Flanders and Roubaix.

No conclusions can be drawn for TDF.
We've only seen him climb Jebel Jafet. It's not a reliable demonstration because his spring training was for the cobbles classics.

Spring form has been pretty consistent between 2023-2025 if you ask me.

This year he been going for a long time. He is at the very end of a difficult schedule and he has just raced PR for the first time.

Both factors to consider, that he might not really be his best form atm... but he is still Pog.

In PR, he didn't win anything but finished second in his debut whit great sesations.

If this were a statistical matter, then Pogacar's performance in Catalunya 2024 would be better than his performance in PR 2024, but it has no correlation.
Performance isn't measured by a victory without considering the context.
This year, Pogacar would surely have won Itzulia with four stages, but he went to PR and didn't win.

Pogacar's physical performance in Roubaix and Catalunya was probably similar.

I think you also have to think about his time time preparing for Ronde and PR.

Very different from the climbing he did and just focused on last season.

I think PR is also way harder on the body and it is a long race. I think he would say it was way harder than Cataluyna on how it affected him.

Catalunya was just race to build form anyway for him. Race days before Giro.

In PR, for example, he probably had to dig deeper than he has done and the cobbles there are brutal. The distance and character of it. It comes after a long block of racing. It is no surprise he might struggle here and there in the next few races, but it could also be that he will still be very good. Just missing that little bit that is the difference between winning or "just" finishing on the podium. We will see.

He still has 2 altitude training camps before the Tour.

I have a short memory, but maybe VaE. I just like the way that he races.

I like anyone who TAKES the race. As I've stated I'm not as much a fan of one or two guys, I'm a fan of hard racing.
