I wonder if his contract even allows for this. The Tour is sooooo much larger than anything else in cycling and they will want to have their pretty well paid star there. I agree though, his comment he other day that unfortunately he has to do it every year clearly indicates he'd like to skip it some time. Maybe they will let him if he get's to 5.
I’m sure a handful of teams would pay him to skip it

Urska having a really good ride today so the altitude camp worked for someone.
She also has a really “good” cold sore, from what I’ve seen on her teams insta story. Maybe Urska’s husband was/is getting sick.

I’m still thinking he will be fine in the mountains. During the TT the first images I saw from the side and I thought the graphics were wrong and it was another UAE rider. Something seemed odd, not the same posture on the TT bike as normal.

She had the flu a few weeks ago. Missed the vuelta but was still staying with him at altitude if you look at her instagram.

Also the cold sore thing is less about cyclists getting sick and more about the fact they are on such a tight energy balance that they can’t really overcome illness well and it hangs around for a long time. At least this is Herman Ponzer’s theory which is pretty well accepted.

Consistent with the time an amateur rider could keep up with Pogi:

@Peyroteo94

If that would really be 1:44 then the video wouldn't last 52s and that is with introduction included. Give it up, AFAIK Urška joined him and she was sick? Pogi got it too and that is all there is to it.

Wellens doing a good job, also he's riding the aero bike on mountains lol
Yes, but with his pace, the break has widened the gap.

It's a problem for UAE that he's the one who held on, and it confirms that Sivakov is climbing poorly this year.
Added to what Adam did, I wouldn't be surprised if someone were to be out of the Tour.

Narvaez today awesome.
