great performance today but let's not jump to conclusions. IMO today vingegaard was not on his level, just as pog was not on his level in the TT

Let's wait for the data to see Vingegaard's level.
you are right, but to me the gap to jorgenson and lipowitz is already telling quite a bit, just as in the case of pog's TT. I expect pog's number to be super good but not at PDB level

Vingegaard exploded following Pog. If Pogacar is not in this race I am confident Jonas beats everyone else with 30-40 secs and we would be calling him the Terminator.

maybe but I'm not so sure, when pog did his seated acceleration vingegaard stayed in his wheel for few meters so it's not like he exploded to remain in his wheel more, he almost immediately took his own pace

Sivakov was dropped early. Like Adam, he confirmed his poor performance in the mountains this year.

I suppose that's why Majka was sent to the altitude training camp. He'll be replacing someone.
Smart decision, he's old but still better mountain dom than 70% of UAE team. If Pog really needs his help... that's totally different story.

pog had a VAM of 1888 today on a 8.61 km climb at 7.24%. In PDB his vam was 1887, but the gradient was 7.9% in PdB so it's easier to do an higher vam in PDB (higher gradient). Moreover, here he did almost the entire climb alone. So it's easy to estimate that he did at least 7 w/kg (probably even a bit more) for 19:48. Let's wait for more accurate estimates, but I already know this performance was super, not Pdb level, but still super

Hugely impressive lead out from UAE. Cipressa like effort but Jonas did not have the kind of explosive ability to hold the wheel or pull back a couple of bike lengths as MVDP did. Obviously this was a steeper climb after a more intensively ridden race.
