UAE doesn’t have any pure climbers here—they’ll have Almeida waiting and hell drop everyone which I think is unfortunate but yeah.. They’re also on a different altitude training program than the rest. Friendly tip: look at Politt last Dauphine, come the Tour, he even dropped half the peloton.

There’s a difference between brain and strategy, by the way. You're right Visma is indeed much superior in that regard much better strategy wice UAE literally couldnt ridden like more amateurs if they tried in the Giro for instance. But that and horsepower are two different things, and Pogacar lvl now neglects all tactics anyway, thats the reality so who really cares? Besides people who are fans of teams in cycling, which I definitely am not.

Wow, w/kg estimation is clearly way more impressive than VAM. I guess the fact that he rode alone + the shallow section in the middle upped the estimation.

yes, same VAM as PDB but the average gradient was 0.7% lower on today's climb, that's a lot, so 7.3-7.4 is a reasonable estimate, and these values are super

Last year Pog gave an interview where he said he spends more time with Majka than he does with Urska or his parents so I feel like if he can have him in the team he will but I guess it depends.

Yates hasn’t been spotted training at altitude yet I don’t think.

If taking a guess. Majka is the one most likely to replace Yates for the Tour.

The guy said "this isn't pogs best level by his summer standards" this tells me their camp wants to play "jonas is also not at his best shape thats why he lost a minute to an average pog" soon in the tour there are no places to hide. This is the best pog! He said it himself before the stage that on the rode there are no any improvements to be made but on the TT they will work on isola.
During the interview before the stage u can hear pog saying his level both in training and racing are great and there are not much improvements to be made in isola but they will work more on the TT. @ minute 2:42

I know, but I don’t care for those games. They cater to the lesser, yeah..Besides, Quick-Step and Visma said prior to the Dauphiné that they were better than ever, so whatever they say who cares at this point.Their media drill is solid, as it has to be when a guy barely races due to obvious reasons to keep their fans engaged someway.

Patterns and numbers don’t lie. Check UAE at the Dauphine last year versus their progress to the Tour relative to other teams. Politt drops half the peloton.. They come to the Dauphiné two days after altitude training, compared to seven days of acclimation like Quick-Step and Visma. So, by every logical pattern from previous cases with that program, UAE improves even more—meaning Pogacar improves even more relative ..

In the end, it doesn’t matter Pogacar is in a league of his own. The way he’s played with them even at this Dauphine grinning and laughing his ass off at that TT and still knowing he win easily... yeah, it’s so jeover.

I don't think it's a big deal. Just some estimations, better or worse, nothing to be angry about. Maybe he did 7.4 w/kg maybe 7.1? Great performance anyway. Gaps vs opponents is what really matter in a race and it's obvious who was by far the strongest today.

Watching a fully seated pogi ride away from Vingo who was sprinting out of the saddle, was quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever seen in cycling. I might give the edge to a 100km attack in WC tho

The WC, yes. You also have this + Roubaix, historically incredible, considering he’s the best climber of all time. MSR was also unprecedented and ridiculous to me especially based upon the shere power in numbers alone..

Honestly, it’s getting hard to rate them from 2024 the current version of him. There are so many at such a rate that it seems like a new norm and absolutely ridiculous.
