Will see some rain throughout the course tomorrow most likely.

Also next Thursday on the queen stages weather looks absolutely terrible. 12 degrees in the valley and rain all day, thats some Galibier 1998 stuff

I wouldn't believe anything Matxin says about the schedule either.

A few days ago he confirmed that Pogacar would go. Today he says Almeida is the leader. And two days ago the press was saying Ayuso could go.

Three versions in one week.

I just hope they don't pressure Pogacar because of pressure from Ayuso or Almeida.

He still needs to have the chat with Roglic where they coordinate the best way possible to dodge each other in every stage race outside the Tour.

What's Slovenian for "hey stuntgranny, I kinda don't even wanna do the Vuelta, do you wanna go race a 3rd Grand Tour? Vingegaard is being called home to his wife"

Tomorrow's stage will be dangerous on the descents, but for Ventoux and Loze, this weather would be excellent news.

The GC situation after first Pyrenean tests is better than expected: over 4 minutes over Vingegaard is a very comfortable buffer plus 4 stages won already. It seems only a disaster (crash, illness, terrible day) can take away victory from him. Pogacar can apply fully defensive mode from now on and just stick to Vingo's wheel. I guess he will want one more stage - Mt Ventoux.

Journalist: What races are you planning next year?
Rogla: Races, which Tadej doesn't ride.

He is good in both but the rain is what really kills everybody except Pogi. Of course cold weather he is also good gor him but rain is where he really kiils everybody (Vuelta, Tour for example)
How good it would have been for Pogacar if it had rained in 2022 and 2023.
Being a leader always means unnecessary risks.

In Ventoux it doesn't matter because there are no descents, so it's better for him. But other stages...

He would win the Tour. Tell me a stage in the last 5 years where he didn't crush his rivals on rainy conditions?

Rain is at 20% all day (possible thunderstorms) but temperatures will drop considerably tonight and heat should be gone (if we can believe the weather people).

Even cooler temperature is good for him. Sola created a monster, no more problems in the sun

Poor breakaway riders!

We've discussed it here a few times:
-Name another professional sport/event that would 'give' the win to the other racer/team/etc.
-Like TP said, his team works hard to win, he works hard to win.

And most stage wins im the future will probably be Visma to gift him.

Mate this sport is littered with such examples.

But now suddenly winning 8 stages in a Grand Tour is normal?

I say this because of the risk of accidents.

When you're the leader, it's better to avoid risks. Although it's great in the rain, a descent in the rain is more dangerous.

He's so good at rain that he was unlucky that it didn't rain at all in 2022 and 2023.

As a reminder, I've been watching pro cycling since the late '80s so I've seen many o gifts, that doesn't mean that I have ever liked watching them.

Other 'kings' have won eight so why not another one?

I don't know of any other professional sport in which an athlete is asked if they're going to let themselves win.

In fact, in most sports, letting themselves win is synonymous with being investigated for illegal betting.

Cavendish was never asked that. Sprinters can win as much as they want, sprinters could take it easy these stage, sprinters have all the facilities. But the ones who have to suffer the most in a general classification are those who also have to give away victories.

Ofc you try to win as much as possible, thats literally your job description and Pog is also very aware of him not just riding against Jonas, but also Eddy. Imagine calling Petacchi greedy for winning 8 stages in 2004

We are in the Summer, it's normal we don't have rain.
