I think that was earlier and the guy is young. He’s since usually credits source material to other social accounts. But I don’t follow them carefully other than occasionally seeing them on my feeds.
Yeah, dude's used this as an excuse before then posted pictures of himself with 3-4 (similar) young-looking ladies as an intended middle-finger to his critics. Not a good source in my estimation.

What a turn of events, up to only 16 months ago a lot of pundits if not the majority thought Pogi could never win a TdF again.

And here he is now having beat all the odds, absolutely smashing the TdF.
I rejoined the forum in late Fall of 2023 utterly convinced Pogi had a Vingo problem that was darned near unassailable. I had all of these meme/youtube strategies lined out of whole a super team at UAE attacking youtube/meme style with Pogi there to finish it off as a necessary strategy to take down Vingo.

Then MOU showed up with news from the camp that this was about to change in a big way. I didn't wish to believe it because I didn't want the disappointment to sting. But man o man was he at least right about that much.

Assuming Vingo doesn't get another meme attacked together for tomorrow or Sunday, this is looking like win #4. Pogi walks amongst the cycling gods, and races against them alone.

Before yesterday’s stage, when asked what he had learned about himself during this Tour de France, Tadej said he’d only talk after Paris, joking that he might even make a podcast about it.

Feels like we might finally learn what really happened after Hautacam once this Tour is over.

I think people are reading too much into things.

He crashed and then put out two huge efforts to gain a lot of time.

After that he has had to be careful and had to respond to long range attempts. Used his team as much as he can and they have helped control the race, contrary to a majority on here slewing his team. I dont understand it.

Responding to the long rangers and isolating himself too early... he could have found himself in a 2022 scenario. It almost happened two days in a row here with Vinge, Roglic and Lipo all attacking... but the team was there to bring it back. Going on the attack himself and risk blowing up is not necessary. Especially when he doesnt need to. He already has 4 stages as well. Winning more is just a bonus and shown he is not desperate for it.

Maybe he is feeling the affects after a hard Tour and a busy first half of the season. Maybe crash has put him down. Maybe sick, but a lot of riders are coughing and sneezing at the end of a GT.

He has a good lead and showed an incredible level in a couple of stages, that was enough here.

There has also been a lot of small incidents throughout this Tour. He has handled it well. Shown restraint and not reacted. Kept his cool about it.

They are just being smart now to seal it up. Not do anything stupid.

People are speculating and trying to work out scenarios because the expectations were sky-high before this Tour. After 2024 and the first half of this season + Dauphine we all expected he will obliterate the Tour where in fact it was nothing like that, Visma put on a really good fight and Jonas was incredibly strong even though he didn't manage to drop Tadej.
I think Tadej is just exhausted and doesn’t want to go through another three-week battle with Visma and Jonas right away, which is probably why he's skipping the Vuelta.

Which wasnt hard to predict or understand.

With the classics... I was adamant about that he would not to do a second GT.

I tried to tell people this for months in the early season and as far as last fall, I believe.

Riding classics, Dauphine, Tour + Vuelta... anyone that understand the toughness and prep needed for this would know or understand it is too tough and not feasible. That it wouldnt be a good idea. I always hoped he wouldnt do the Vuelta now, but we will see.

Taking a break after Tour, after achieving so much this season already... is just the most sensible thing to do. Try to win WC and Lombardia again.

Reflect and then think about next seasons targets.

Even after the 'perfect' tour last year he was too tired for the Vuelta. I don't think anyone watching him over the last week would say he is in a good place to jump straight to a new three-week Visma-assault in Spain.

Of course i would love to see it. It would make for great viewing and i dont think it would be a foregone conclusion at all, I think his form could be getting quite shaky quite soon due to his illness and fatigue from the tour. It would be an awesome feat if he wins, and if not a Jonas revenge would be great for the discourse and set up next years tour nicely.

But for his long term health and enjoyment I think a holiday and a limited autumn season is probably a better choice.

Jonas vs the lieutenants would be very interesting anyways.

yeah vingo was aproblem, but i have mild suspicion, that real level between pogacar and jonas is closer to paris nice than tour.if it was only bread and water.
Vingegaard has always been inferior to Pogacar in all races outside the Tour. Far inferior in U23 being older...
But according to someone who uses Vineggaard as his avatar, objective opinion 😂, it's Pogacar who resembles Armstrong, who spent all year without competing or showing high level until Tour de France, where he was indestructible, and who became a Tour de France winner suddenly.
This description doesn't exactly remind of Pogacar.... 🙄

He's obviously been sick all week.

I don't agree that it's simply because he doesn't like GT races. Last year he did two GT and was euphoric at the end of the second.

It's clear he's had a bad week due to the flu.

In another video from yesterday, on the podium, he was seen having some difficulty breathing through his nose.

And Jonas wasn't able to do nothing. That's why I'm convinced the next Tours are over

After yesterday's stage Pogi accidentally "kissed" the rear hood of the Visma team car he was following on his way to the hotel. He jokingly said that "the sudden stop maybe due to check-braking by the driver".

I will say something that may surprise you guys. I think the Vuelta is still possible.
Pogacar's riding after Peyragude can be explained in the Clinic but I won't go deep with explanations.
Pog is fine physically. Probably he is frustrated mentally for a number of reasons.
That's all I will say.
