Here is the press conference. You decide what to think. For me it looks like he wants to go to Spain. Maybe other factors in the team could stop him?
I think he is probably going. He wants to keep it secret but from his interview i can smell a yes more than no & especially when i saw the most recent youtube clip of uae teams recap of the last week i got more optimistic. From minute 7:30 onwards its visible to see how easy pog finished the loze stage & how vingegaard looked like he just got away from a running monster & this tells me there is a plan behind not going all guns blazing this tour. Hopefully🙏View: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AXzpyShXvoM

I'm not optimistic. Unfortunately, he will face Vingegaard again if he goes to the Vuelta. It's good for cycling fans, not so good to Tadej if he wants to peak for WC+GdL."I said on, I don't know which day, that we will decide a couple of days after the Tour when everything is calm and heads are clear, then we make decisions for the next races," he said. "It's going to be tough to decide. Of course I would like to go to the Vuelta. Every year I do the Tour and I would like to do the Vuelta one day also, so we will see."![]()
'This year was on another level' – after winning a gruelling Tour de France, Tadej Pogačar doesn't know when he will ride again
The world champion is supposed to ride the Vuelta a España in search of a first red jersey, but that plan didn't account for exhaustionwww.cyclingweekly.com
Vingegaard already confirmed it.
Pog is still being mysterious.
If he goes to the Vuelta, I think he won't go to Lombardia this year. He had to miss it sometime.I'm not optimistic. Unfortunately, he will face Vingegaard again if he goes to the Vuelta. It's good for cycling fans, not so good to Tadej if he wants to peak for WC+GdL.
He is waiting to see how he feels. If he doesn't race the Vuelta because of Ayuso... Jesus, I'm the first one to say "leave UAE and go to Visma"View: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AXzpyShXvoM

If in the end it's pressure due to Ayuso's threat to leave, it would be a disregard by UAE for Pogacar. He is waiting to see how he feels. If he doesn't race the Vuelta because of Ayuso... Jesus, I'm the first one to say "leave UAE and go to Visma"
Damn, Indurain didnt make itHe's gotta win the Vuelta first before he enters the conversation.
Who would believe if we say he rode the whole 2nd & 3rd week on 1 lower zone than his peak zone except hautacam & peyregudes whereby pog & sola agreed that it could be the key to still be good in Spain & Rwanda. Who knows...I'm not optimistic. Unfortunately, he will face Vingegaard again if he goes to the Vuelta. It's good for cycling fans, not so good to Tadej if he wants to peak for WC+GdL.
122 years later.. Lol! Truly impressive!
he needs 6-7 tours plus at least 1 vuelta and a couple giro, so 10 in total, which is less than merckx but with more tdf winsGuys, how many GTs Pogacar neess to win to be considered the best GT rider of all times?
Indurain went to the Giro 3 times and won 2.Damn, Indurain didnt make it
His 5 Tours and 2 Giros means nothing
What professional athletes don't complain?Just for comparison purposes, Pogacar's salary is about 20% less than the average NBA player salary, and he's at the top of of his sport. I'd say he has a far longer schedule as well. And NBA players complain all the time (and rightfully so) about the length of the season and having to play on back-to-back nights.
winning a few tours & not much else in the peak doping era, doth not maketh thee a goat.Damn, Indurain didnt make it
His 5 Tours and 2 Giros means nothing
Ok, so means nothing. Got it.winning a few tours & not much else in the peak doping era, doth not maketh thee a goat.
Guys, how many GTs Pogacar neess to win to be considered the best GT rider of all times?
If he wins 1 Vuelta plus 2 Tours, he can get there. For me he already is in theory, as Vingegaard is one of the best GT rider in history, and the best climber in history right behind Pogi.
Beating this guy 3 times is the greatest GT achievement ever.
But for mainstream legacy I think he needs at least 10 GT including a minimum of 5 TdF
I might be overvaluing the tour, but in my opinion the number of gts he needs is equal to the number of tours he needs. 6. In an era of (at least) two other all time great gt riders winning the big cheese 6 times would do it irrespective of how many times he bothers to race the other ones.Guys, how many GTs Pogacar neess to win to be considered the best GT rider of all times?
2 more TdFs and one vuelta. But i think he wants to do Giro at least one more time.Guys, how many GTs Pogacar neess to win to be considered the best GT rider of all times?
he seems tired to me.View: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AXzpyShXvoM
