Lack of TT training wouldn't make much sense cause all GC riders just maintain TT training throughout the year to some degree. So unless Pogacar doesn't do this at all, it wouldn't make much sense.

I think the only thing that kinda makes sense is if he struggles with time trials if he hasn't done max efforts recently, so if he's done a few full gas efforts in a race his TT is gonna do better than if he hasn't, which is a sizable difference between the Dauphine TT and the Tour TT.

Or it's just always *** around with the TT position, as one does.
He won the first time trial of the 2021 Tour de France.

He trains very little, only before the Tour and someday in preseason. I mentioned this before this World Championship. We only saw him for one day. Very little for someone who recognizes he needs to train in this discipline to feel comfortable on TT bike.

Yesterday, from the start, he looked much more uncomfortable on the TT bike than in the last Tour ITT. He's one of those riders who needs to practice or he'll be uncomfortable again. And from what we've seen, he's hardly trained at all. He didn't need to say that; we already discussed it here last week.

In the Dauphine there was the valid excuse that he used a different position. And that didn’t work out. I understand why his time wasn’t that great.

Yesterday probably had to do with jet lag and lack of altitude training so having to adjust himself. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with his form. I can still see him win WC RR, EC RR and Lombardia

He’s justifiably favourite of course but there are others particularly in the first two races with a very decent shot. Lombardia when he’s racing with the UAE team he is heavier favourite. It will take an absolutely top Remco to stay with him. Possible but a Pog win in Lombardy is I think more certain than Sunday or the following week.

pog hates training in general, tells everything about tt.he is talent merchant.
On the contrary. Pogacar is on his bike all day. What he hates is being separated from Urska, but when he's with her, all he does is ride his bike.

Even on Christmas and New Year's Day, he's on his bike when most riders aren't those days.

I've seen few professional cyclists who have spent their time,on vacation or off-season on the bike like this one. He loves the bike.

The only thing he hates is ITT bike.. He usually spends more time on the gravel bike than on ITT bike.... .
He often rides with Mathews on the gravel bike. That's why he loves Strade Bianche and cobblest races .

Before turning pro, he competed amateur CX in Slovenia. Unimportant races, but he likes all disciplines, except riding the time trial bike because he feels uncomfortable. He's said this many times.

he is on bike all day.mmy man this is heavy endurance sport.remco did four camps, jonas lives for preparation.pog loves to race, but train.
Pogacar goes to the altitude camps without any problems when Urska accompanies him.
Not doing four altitude camps doesn't mean not training.

Do you think he didn't train hard to do Flanders and Roubaix this year? He didn't do any altitude camps for those races, but training for those classics is very hard.

Check his Strava from the days he's in Monaco. He usually does wild training sessions. Not being at altitude doesn't mean he doesn't train hard.

To be competitive in Flanders and Roubaix, he has to train harder than to do Paris-Nice and Algarve.
Pogacar can win Tirreno Adriaco with a medium effort, to be competitive in Flanders and Roubaix he has to reach a higher level.

So maybe he should've gone to the Vuelta instead like Vinge.
Vingegaard's spring training was nothing compared to what Pogacar had to do physically and mentally to be at his best in all the classics from San Remo to Liège. Especially training for Roubaix.

If Vingegaard had done that races, we'd have to see him at the Tour... What Pogacar has done this year from San Remo to the Tour is very hard.

In fact, if we're talking about training, he's had to separate his weight and training into two blocks. Vingegaard plans the whole year to increase his level until the Tour, training in the mountains. Pogacar has dedicated half a year to other specific training, and after Liège, he started training in the mountains with a different kind of training.
There's no other cyclist in the world right now who does that. Not even Remco, because he doesn't ride cobbles; he focuses on training at altitude, the same training throughout the year.

I think that's where Pogacar's difference between last season and this one. Last season was hard, but he trained at altitude and in the mountains all year. He didn't have to change his training.

This year, he had to do two blocks, and that's much more difficult to do. There's a reason why there are so few versatile cyclists, doing the overwall in a GT and cobbles races. More than a few, only Pogacar

It's more comfortable to do a single annual training session gradually. For Pogacar, the 2024 season was more comfortable than than the 2025 season.

At least the TT being first means he will have had ten days at altitude in Kigali before the RR, so should have adapted well to the altitude. He doesn't tend to do altitude before one days I don't think.

This WC was always going to be different due to avg altitude of 1500 m. I hinted before the TT that altitude training may give Remco some advantage (and it probably did). There's a lot of time until the RR so I'm expecting Pog to feel better there and 2 hard training sessions should do the job as well.

The saddest thing is that Pogacar certainly has few true fans, despite his greatness. It's paradoxical that Jonas or Remco always have a hard core that supports them, regardless of the results. Instead he's practically alone against everyone: foaming haters and so-called "fans" who constantly complain, even after every victory (because he didn't win more stages, because he only won by 30 seconds, because he waited until the last kilometers, etc.). The latter are even the worst. This is truly sad.

Very.

Look, I was a fan of Jan Ullrich and Frode Andresen. I liked Teddy before he started winning so much and I'll like him when he stops.
