he didn't look too good after FW either

I think he's thinner now.

In the podcast he did last year, he said he weighed more at the 2024 Classics than he at the start of the Tour . And now he's as thin as he was at the Tour.
I did think my perception might be a bit warped. I felt like he was thinner at Strade 2024 than he had been in 2023, so I just really noticed it. It seems to work fairly well for him, but I guess we'll see on Sunday.

In Flanders, he always weighs more than in the Tour, but now I see him as thin as in the Tour. To pass the cobbles, it's better to have a little more weight.

nah, remember that this race will have 5500 meters of elevation, flanders is around 2000 meters. It's better to be very low weight with so much elevation

But except for Mont Kigali, they're short climbs. The weight of Flanders would be fine, isn't the weight of Pedersen or VDP.
His weight is more or less the same as all year around 65. Dont worry he has a world class coach who knows what he is doing with his weight management. I think the deception is with the camera angle + if he wears a full skin suit or not(wearing it might make him look like big)

As mentioned above I think Pog will be close to his Tour weight. But even so, as you say a little extra weight isn't such a penalty on short climbs. But the issue would be cumulative fatigue.

On the Kigali course you have to repeat pulling that extra kilo or two up each of those climbs 9 times before the finishing circuit. It all adds to fatigue late in the race. 5,475 metres of elevation over 267 km is indeed brutal.

He also had a coach for the time trial, and it turned out worse than expected.

Some believe the travel to Canada and not doing the altitude camp were a mistake before ITT.

I don't know what his coach would advise regarding the time trial and Canada.
