Pogacar needs the race to be more like the men's U23 race than the women's races seen so far.

The Ethiopian and Swiss were very strong, but they had to close all the gaps alone, while Spain teammates prevented Paula Ostiz from wasting energy.

If Pogacar hasn't recovered from the Tour, it would be better for him to win like today's girl, but today's girl had the strongest team, and that won't be repeated tomorrow. If he's in bad shape, he won't win anyway because he hasn't strong team, so we have to hope he isn't, and what's best for him is for the race to be similar to yesterday's, so the leaders are left alone soon. Not surrounded by Belgians, Australians, and French.

I believe he is in good shape so a harder race will be good for him unless the race is completely in pieces before Mount Kigali.

You could totally see that backfiring in exactly the same way the mens U23 race strategy did.

They raced like Widar is the second coming of Pogacar. And looking to his body type, he is destined to not accomplish what he did/does in the U23.
Small climbers and puncheurs are getting destroyed in this generation.
