But we can't compare Vingegaard with Almeida.
That was done in this forum...
And I'm telling you the same thing about Del Toro.
In GT, for now, his level is insufficient to be a problem for Vingegaard.

Carapaz and Simon aren't in their prime.

Carapaz and Simon aren't in their prime.

But where did I disagree with this?

Their main mistake was made at the bottom of the climb (crazy attack by Carapaz and Del Toro following it). As @Red Rick says Yates is a flat uphill track FTP bully: he had a more steady start and produced a great performance on this climb.
WAS.
Simon hadn't been at the level to win a GT for seven years 😅
That day was a surprise

And in the Tour, he was a domestique. To put into perspective how close Del Toro would have been to Vingegaard in the Giro. No close, no problem.

The thing is, Jonas may do the Giro to complete his Triple crown. And Pogi must race the Vuelta some year to complete his. Next year's GT winners are Jonas and Tadej.
I am still quite doubtful on whether Visma will allow Vingegaard to do the Giro and the expense of lowering their chances for the Tour.

Seems to me that at Visma there is still believe that Vingegaard can beat Pogacar if everything falls into place. And they will definitely know that they significantly impact the chances of everything falling into place if they allow Vingegaard to do the Giro.

Likewise i am also not sure if Pogacar already wants to do the Vuelta at the possible expense of a another succesful Canada trip.

I also don't think Pogacar will race the Vuelta but mainly because of PR.

And with the ‘26 Tour that would be four consecutive Grand Tours. Jonas has never had that kind of load before
