MVP won't be this good much longer, maybe declining next season already.Ironically, against MVP having extra teammates in a small group may be his biggest chance.

MvdP is a all time freak on those short anaerobic efforts but even he get grinded to dust in em in RVV by Pogacar. An Hautacam level lead out from Narvaez with Wellens etc as well could work but is much harder to achieve on Cipressa as the lead in just isn’t hard enough to thin the field enough to simplify the positioning battle and put riders close enough to their limits that they are already pinned in line.
If you expect UAE to have a 2v1 situation or nobody in the group to have a dom, Pogacar still has to win a sprint or surprise everyone with his attack (not happening)Ironically, against MVP having extra teammates in a small group may be his biggest chance.
I certainly don't expect a 2 on 1 situation, and certainly not in MSR.If you expect UAE to have a 2v1 situation or nobody in the group to have a dom, Pogacar still has to win a sprint or surprise everyone with his attack (not happening)
Yeahh this year, only Wellens was in a good position at the foot of the Cipressa. Pog and Narvaez had to come back from the middle of the group, probably expending more energy in the process. Then Del Toro was just too far back.UAE had serious positioning problems before the Cipressa in '25. I hope they are better next year. Del Toro may need more experience before he can be a factor.
Based on what? Maybe isn't the start of evidence when Mathieu is serious in any race. If Pogacar is even stronger at PR: he still lacks the tactical and riding skill on cobbles of MvP. He was lucky he got as deep into this last edition without a mechanical or crash. Add a little moisture and it becomes dicey for both of them.MVP won't be this good much longer, maybe declining next season already.
He's older. Yeah, MSR is great.Based on what? Maybe isn't the start of evidence when Mathieu is serious in any race. MSR is different thing, though. Pogacar has learned enough to tactically get a better separation but there is always the sprint to deal with and who is there to win it. It's a great race for the surprises that turn up, isn't it?
They do force the issue across the capis and make it extremely hard. The terrain doesn’t allow it to be impossible to stay in for the pelotonYeahh this year, only Wellens was in a good position at the foot of the Cipressa. Next year, they might already need to start making it hard on the Capi.
Mathieu is on the downside of his peak years...he will decline. How fast will he decline...no one knows.Based on what? Maybe isn't the start of evidence when Mathieu is serious in any race.
