UAE had serious positioning problems before the Cipressa in '25. I hope they are better next year. Del Toro may need more experience before he can be a factor.

Yeahh this year, only Wellens was in a good position at the foot of the Cipressa. Pog and Narvaez had to come back from the middle of the group, probably expending more energy in the process. Then Del Toro was just too far back.

Next year, they might already need to start making it hard on the Capi.

Based on what? Maybe isn't the start of evidence when Mathieu is serious in any race. If Pogacar is even stronger at PR: he still lacks the tactical and riding skill on cobbles of MvP. He was lucky he got as deep into this last edition without a mechanical or crash. Add a little moisture and it becomes dicey for both of them.
MSR is different thing, though. Pogacar has learned enough to tactically get a better separation but there is always the sprint to deal with and who is there to win it. It's a great race for the surprises that turn up, isn't it?

He's older. Yeah, MSR is great.

They do force the issue across the capis and make it extremely hard. The terrain doesn’t allow it to be impossible to stay in for the peloton

11.5 km between the peak of 'Capo Berta' and the start of 'la Cipressa', though.
That's a problem.

It's only 1km less than there is between peak of the Cipressa and beginning of the Poggio

I agree. In case there's not enough wind for echelons, it's 6 hours of absolute boredom and 5 exciting minutes

As if underestimating Pogacar wasn't enough, now they're underestimating his main rival.

There's no greater rival than MVDP in Flanders. Without Pogacar, he'd already be the record holder for the race and considered the best cyclist in Flanders.

I think the difficulty of Flanders is underestimated compared to Liège and Lombardy. The fight for position and avoiding accidents are crucial.

I noticed when someone suggested that Roglic should have gone to De Ronde. Roglic won't survive those sectors if he already struggles so much to avoid accidents in France roads.

De Ronde is a race with a lot accidents.

There is no greater rival on the cobbles than MVDP.

But seriously, given that the 2029 Worlds will mostly likely be flat, this is a great idea, pure sprinters don't deserve two rainbow jersey chances in a row.
