I'm curious to know the Tour de France team because of the TTT.
Vine is one of the best, but I wouldn't take him. He wouldn't survive to the crashes of the Tour.

I still think the locks are Pogacar (duh), Almeida, Narvaez, Wellens, and Politt.

Del Toro would be nice to have as a replacement for Yates but I think he goes Giro/Vuelta (whichever Almeida doesn't target as a GC leader). I won't rule his Tour participation out though but that means he won't be a GC leader at a Grand Tour next year.

McNulty and Vine are nice replacements for Sivakov and Soler, especially with the TTT. As for your concern with Vine, he can just stay at the back in the chaotic stages and lose time in the gruppetto before doing the damage on the mountains. As for McNulty, with Pogi in the team, I don't think he'll have any problems working for him, especially after Pogi gifted him Montreal this year. Both Vine and McNulty are also nice breakaway stage hunters if UAE wants to greed for more stage wins.

I won't be surprised though if UAE just sends the same 2025 Tour team next year.

The main question for me is either Del Toro leads the Giro and Almeida is dom for Pogacar at the Tour and leads the Vuelta afterwards or Almeida leads both Giro and Vuelta and Del Toro is dom at the Tour. I would also send Vine to the Tour, same role as Yates had this year aka do nothing, don't care about lost time, be there in the mountains. I think the decision will also be influenced by the TTT on stage 1

I think it's much more likely Almeida gets a GT as a leader and the Tour as dom (+ aim for podium) while Del Toro gets whatever GT Almeida doesn't go to. IMO, Del Toro wants another tilt at a GT as leader before getting to go as dom at the Tour.

As long as he remains on the same team as Pogacar Del Toro can forget about being the leader in the Tour.

He needs to take another step forward. He was beaten in one of the queen stages by a declining Carapaz and in another by Simon Yates, who hadn't won a GT in seven years and is a domestique in a Tour.

For now, Almeida remains far superior to GT than Del Toro.

As long as Pogacar rides the Tour, Del Toro can forget about winning it anyway, its even better for him.

Besides, Del Toro still has a lot to prove before hes even considered the next in line of Tour contenders behind Pogi. However much I like his talent. Thats just status quo.

I agree, basically the same schedule as this season

Indeed, then I would go with Vine over Yates - more value from a numerical perspective on all terrains which gives double the value. (though I see the reasoning behind his bike handling, you can still hide him behind the peloton)

I’d swap Soler for either Vermeersch, who is a beast, or McNulty kinda rider for even more horsepower across various terrain, depending on what you want to emphasize. End of the day, basically impossible to go wrong either way with the options at hand.
