UAE as a team was pretty mediocre. Bjerg did his part and controlled the breakaway. Politt's leadout was great. Veermersch did his part afterwards and worked prior to the 2nd Kwaremont.
Not sure what the rest of the team was doing. Oliveira crashed early. Never to be seen again. Cosnefroy crashed as well. No clue where Morgado was all race long.

But it doesn't really matter because in the end all they need is one leadout and it's game over as long as Pog is in the race.
At this point, they just need to put Pogacar in a good position and let him do his thing.
The same will happen in PR.

It's not a given in Roubaix. I don't believe he can just ride away from Mathieu, like on the Kwaremont, in the flat terrain of Roubaix. It's more complicted for Pog to arrive solo in the velodrome, which is his only secure path to victory.

MVdP is an absolute monster in PR.

Last year all the attacks Pogi did before crashing didn't seem to hurt Mathieu whatsoever

I think best case scenario is Pogi arrives with MVDP and by some incredible luck he manages to win the sprint.

Bad news for Pogi fans.
Tadej just like on TDF hit his knee when he fell durring MSR and is now dealing with fluid in the knee. He will still start both RVV and PR but could take RVV more like a training ride. I hope his knee holds up cuz we were on the verge of witnessing the perfect season TDF+5monuments+WC.

@zekance you deserve a special mention for breaking the news 👏

Narrative changed: A handicapped pogacar rode away from everybody in flanders😬 we will never know how he is feeling atm but pog is hiding something with his knee like he did on last years tdf.
After witnessing what he did at this years milan sanremo i thought pog has made another leap this year but todays performance brought me back to the square board when I saw only a 34 sec gap to vdp at the finish. I expected more than a minute of a gap today with Rvv having so many altitude meters compared to roubaix & was down in moral for roubaix when I saw just 34 secs of a gap in the finish But this picture tells rather the full story behind.

Pogacar was doing 80% of the work and the gap was more like 45" than 34".

The gap was more like closer to 50 seconds before Pogi decided to celebrate in the final kilometer. MVDP wasn't coming off a sickness before RVV this year.

Yup. MVP was going well on cobbled bergs yesterday and lost little time there (he lost more when there was no wheel to hold) . I think Pogacar and Van der Poel arriving at the velodrome together is the most likely scenario and then the Dutch is favoured. Then again, its Roubaix and luck matters a lot so who knows.

I think Wout might also be with them - I felt it was the gradients that did for him yesterday and that he's better now than at this time last year

Wout looked good but the gap was massive. Maybe he did too much following Pod on the 2nd Kwaremont. Still, if he's with them it shouldnt be that surprising.

He went over the limit while Pogacar was cruising at 80% of his capacity. Wout has no business against Pogacar in RVV.

Visma have found a new strategy to beat Pogacar. Trying to mess with his romance with Urska. Sooner than later we will see Pogacar hanging out with Ullrich and Schleck on a pub in Germany.

Brilliant tactic by Visma! Eating Nutella & drinking with Ullrich won't help Teddy against Vingegaard in July.

Oh wait, isnt it the way he won his first two Tours?

Only 6 secs on kwaremont means 0 sec on either Mons-en-Pévèle or arenberg or orchis… Nonetheless roubaix is a luck fest where a single moment decides the outcome. It’s still crazy to think we’re one mechanical from vdp away from winning the calendar monument

What does another 6s on the "flat" immediately after Kwaremont mean?

And mind you, that's with MvdP pulling a lot less than 50% and not as strong pulls. If they go 50-50, equally hard the gap would not be 6s but 30s

Whether Pogi gained only 6 seconds, 20 seconds, or 1 minute on MVDP on the last Kwaremont, there was no certainty he was going to drop MVDP on the Roubaix cobbles. MVDP paced the last Kwaremont extremely well rather than cracking himself following Pogi's pace this year and that's why he was closer this time around.

It means vdp was going to his limit to close the gap on the climb as a result paid for it afterwards
Exactly, clearly he went much harder on the climb. If Pogacar gets a 3s gap after some cobbles I don't think MvdP is bringing him back. Getting the gap tho, that's the difficult part
