Facts? Which facts?

Your opinion and point of view don't turn anything into a fact.

He crashed and won MSR. Won RVV. Also won Strade.
He has won 4 Monuments in a row.

But now, forced to chase after a mechanical, tired in the end, he is weaker.

Ok, it's your opinion, but a fact? Not true.

Let's be classy, Wout was the better rider today. Nobody wins every race.
He did nothing Poglike today. I was expecting more on the cobbled sectors.
All this hype about more power is complete BS - in my eyes.

UAE mismanaged this race when he had the puncture. They should have stopped the domestques, and when he was 15 seconds behind the should stopped Vermeercsh.

After the last two editions, are there still people who think Florian should act as a second leader?
Philippsen has finished second twice, and today he stopped because for helpin Mathieu. With riders like these, it's ridiculous to give others freedom.
By prioritizing egos, they have cooked up their leader.

It's just so subjective man, the race was harder this year and he had muuuuch worse luck, and spent more bullets than he wanted earlier.

Comparing directly the 2 editions and conclude he was weaker is just too hard to assess.
I know it's hard to assess, the eye test tells me he did not look super today, but in general what I'm trying to say that comparing all the races he did this year his level is similar to last year, contrary to what many were saying, including people from his team

He won everything since but today? What are we talking about?
I know it might only be a 3–5% drop, but it feels like it changed everything. Before Combloux, he was dominating and dropping everyone, Vingegaard includded, like at the Dauphine and on Hautacam.
After that TT, something felt off. Maybe injury, maybe illness, maybe the Tour’s toll, but he didn’t look like the same rider. Even his post-Tour comments suggested it affected him deeply.
On paper it’s small, but in reality it feels like that Tour took something out of him.

Of course he should not be a team leader. Pogacar really killed himself to comeback again.

I'm just disappointed from what I saw. Not just the loss against a washed Van Aert.
The Mvdp group was just 15 secs back.

Might be time for me to leave this place, first the usual meltdown in the race thread from half the forum now this here. Trash level discourse.
Why is it so hard to accept that a rider can still win everything and yet be slightly weaker than before? When someone is as far ahead as Pogačar has been, even a small drop in performance doesn’t stop them from winning. Being dominant and being a bit below your peak aren’t mutually exclusive.

We should also factor in that other cyclists are improving maybe. UAE has only Pogacar and his teammates data. The level is always relative to the others.

I have no idea if he is better or worse than last year. I remember people having a huge meltdown after Amstel last year and we know how that played out, so let’s wait for LBL.

An hour ago in the other thread people saying that he was going to win the sprint like Cavenish, now is underdoog in LBL :tearsofjoy:
I said days ago that I don't see him dropping Seixas on La Redoute. He can still drop him later or win the sprint but I just think there's a bigger chance than last year he loses LBL.

All this talk about 3 GTs in a year and so on is complete BS.
I said it: 'He needs the Vuelta this year or he may retire without one in his palmares'.
Yes, because suddenly his performance will drop like Froome's. The comments in all the threads today are hilarious.
