Are you assuming Seixas' lack of 3-week endurance (or pressure in France) will hit him hard during the Tour?
In terms of pure w/kg he is in top3.
Normal expectations for young rider progressions would suggest that would be the case. Seixas is, for whatever reason; ahead of those curves. 3 weeks is the true test of recovery ability that he's shown in shorter events. It'd be great if he could for the racing dynamics alone. Fans could legitimately go nuts.

They would have a good case certainly for Messi who has won everything.
Not as many were calling him the greatest ever
( better than Pelé or Maradona) in say 2011 or 2012 when Messi was at his peak, like Pogacar is now.
He had a lot more left to win, he still hadn’t won anything with Argentina, had only won half of his ballon d’ors, hadn’t played in different leagues.
Pogacar is like Messi of that time, he’s brilliant, he has the talent, but he probably still has big things to do to be the greatest.
Football is more of a team sport than cycling.

Really bad comparison.

Football is more of a team sport than cycling.
Football is a team sport while cycling is an individual sport (even if you can't win without your teammates except TTs). When we look to winners of Champions League, there are teams like Real Madrid or Barcelona and not Ronaldo or Messi.

In cycling, if we look to past winners of the TdF, we don't see team UAE, we see Pogacar.

amracer is correct in saying football is more of a team sport than cycling, but cycling isn’t an individual sport at all unless you’re doing an ITT, even then if you’re using a radio to talk to your team it’s still not an individual sport.
Admittedly there are probably better comparisons to be made.

Even with Messi, he was pumped full of drugs to sort out his growth problems, which wouldn’t have been possible in Peles time. Without modern advantages, there is no Messi

Cycling is considered an individual sport. That's not an opinion, it's a fact.

Pogacar has less grand tours than Chris Froome, that’s a fact. He hasn’t won all of the monuments, that’s a fact.
Cycling is raced in teams, it comes down to individual ability a lot of the time, yes.
It’s not an individual sport like tennis or boxing is it ?

It's not but it still is an individual sport.

Regarding Pogacar and Chris Froome and monuments and whatever you are trying to claming, in any circunstance I said Pogacar had a better GT palmares than Froome. I also never said he won all 5 monuments, what is your point exactly?

You were stating cycling is an individual sport when that is very much not black and white at all is it. If it were a free for all then Pog and Merckx might still win, Wiggins probably wouldn’t. Sprinters would hardly win a stage.
My point re Froome and the monuments is that there those facts don’t make Pog the clear goat and it should be cool to still call Merckx the greatest

Aren't you tired of trying to diminish Pogacar?

He is 27 years old, is way better than Froome, and you are here talking ***, just to show yourself.

Stop it.

Pidcock in the top5??? Not even top10.
I will be shocked to see Lipo and Remco in front of Seixas.
No love for Del Toro? Top10 should be easy for him.
If all were actually racing a mid-season 3 week at best form:
Pogi
Jonas
Seixas/Lipo/DelToro
Roglic
Remco
Pidcock/Johannessen
Onley
Gall

The first two are a safe bet with big mountain stages and difficulty spread through the race.

The next three are somewhat interchangeable based on opportunity and endurance. We don't know which of them showed his best last year and early this year. They'll also be aware of each other.

If Roglic wants to fight it out; he's here.

If Remco can move past tendencies that waste energy; he could be here and up to #3 if others flail a bit.

Pidcock is a known and could move up but....just need to see him win a multi-day against solid competition. Johannessen shows amazing skills but he's placed here mostly due to my lack of viewing him.

Seen both Onley and Gall in early and late season. They have what it takes to be on the list and can move higher with opportunity.
There are plenty more up and comers and recovering talent to blend this all.
