I think he has made enough targeted training in the last few years to win it again. This year a lot of things didn't go to plan and he still won it. So if things do go to plan, he can still win it without obsessively preparing for it

he will skip msr one year and then he will go there again. It's at the beginning of the season, now that he has won it he doesn't have any pressure and it's an easy race for him to recover from. We will see pogacar in msr many more times, you'll see

But for that reason, Pogacar does it. Mission impossibles is what Pogacar aims. Triple crown, TdF-WC combo, podium in all 5 monuments. Pogacar is showing he can do what others can't even dream.

You can't target 5 monument wins without winning 4 first. That's my point, he can't say in December "I'm going to target 5 monument wins", because that's A extremely arrogant, B additional motivation for everyone else and C at least 4 months too soon

It's an indirect goal. Pogi wants to win every race he starts and since he hadn't won MSR and PR, he starts all five. I don't think he will target MSR again.

And yeah, this same argument can be made for every race, but why should he bother to go there, a race he is not a favorite, if he already won it?

But he is the favorite now. He knows the recipe. Even more important, if he won while crashing 5 km before the main climb, what will he do with a perfect leadout? He is stronger than 2025.

Yeah, I agree.

And I wish he returns.
But only he knows the sweat and tears he put to win this race.
So maybe he doesn't want anymore.

Now maybe he switch his focus and try to punish himself to win the remaining Monument.

This. Same as when Van Aert wasted his prime skipping San Remo to rest for the cobbled classics and still got dusted in RVV and PR.
