WVA doesn't stand a chance & Pogacar will win this Tour with the biggest margin since Nibali. The only one who could rival him was Roglic.

That's why Pogacar is smiling a lot at the moment. He knows, we know, everyone knows.

Pogacar is the obvious favourite to win the race but let's see how the Alps and Ventoux unfold. How his climbing compares to Carapaz. If he manages to drop him regularly then the final gap could be huge indeed but it's far from certain.

We saw in Basque Country how superior Pogacar was to Carapaz. Granted, Carapaz wasn't fully ready then, but in order to be superior to Pogacar in the Tour he'd have needed to not just catch up with him in his preparation, but also surpass him.

I can't see it.

Pog has been in a very good form since the season start so it's not hard to imagine that Carapaz's progress was bigger (he started from a low level). Carapaz already showed he has a very strong punch. At the weekend we will know what tempo he can maintain compared to Pog. If the latter hits 1850 of VAM for 20+ minutes probably nobody will match that but we will see, such efforts are costly and the race is long.

Without accidents I don't see the need for Pogacar to dig deep... Carapaz is already distanced, Roglic is out, Thomas is out, Froome is back to his normal level. Unless they really want to lay it big... he might not even need to expose his radiation level.
