Though he faded, and made two technical mistakes at the XCO World's, Pidcock went from starting in about 35th place, to the very front of the race in less than three laps. Amazing "talent", especially considering he had just one MTB race in the last few months (the European championships, which he won, btw.)
As to skinny guys climbing, if that were the case Luca Braido and plenty other MTB racers would drop guys like Nino Schurter too (seriously doubt Nino has doped. Best MTB racer ever. Though I'm not naive enough to think the majority of MTB racers are squeaky clean).
Clinic could do a thread on Matthias Flukinger, who did recently test + for zeranol, an estrogen based anabolic. Say what? One friend speculates he was microdosing something to boost his T, and taking this to counter/mask it, and went over the limit. This seems possible. Who knows? Sucks because he's an aggressive racer, fun to watch, even when he doesn't win. Also felt bad when the internet trolled, even threatened, the guy so bad after a race in Switzerland that he decided to skip a few races to avoid people and potential confrontations.
