Porte isn't stronger than Froome.

It's over

Aru looks strong, although granted his gap looks bigger because of the four riders messing about with 1k to go after Quintana and Contador were dropped

Aru will loose 1min to Froome in last ITT, so he needs to be gaining 20 secs most MTFs.. not gonna happen

Superb win Aru!

Froome in yellow.

Contador and Quintana looked terrible

Contador looked alright. He clearly doesn't have the acceleration now, but his form looks okay. Overall I am happy with his performance today.

Great win by Aru, strong tactics from Sky; all in all an excellent stage finish.

It's arguably the best possible stage finish for a first MTF. Some dislike the ones that properly decide the race (PSM), while some dislike the ones that give us no indication of an answer (Etna). This climb is perfectly reliable for an outcome that lies somewhere in-between those extremes.

From all that I've seen, Aru has been the best climber in the world for the last six weeks. He was incredible at the Dauphine and the Nationals. If he maintains this form, then he's easily the biggest threat to Froome. Porte really messed up in the TT.

Aru and maybe Porte are the only guys who can challenge Froome. But only challenge.

Today's stage shows what we're seeing the last years: a really really strong Sky team, a solid Froome and rivals who are struggling to hold his wheel.

Aru, Porte and maybe others will challenge Froome on separate stages but none will be able to sustain it for the duration.

A definite weakness in the Sky train on these kind of gradients. Kwiatkowski basically put them all in the red Nieve, Henao and Thomas were already too much on the limit to respond to Aru at all. I think they'll have to rethink the strategy before Mont Chat.

the usual suspects within a minute (however time being spread more than I had expected) .... surprises to me are Aru (for victory, not Top10), the sort of comeback by Uran and Bardet (was strong last year, would have thought that being a one-off) ....

Porte will not be winning any tour after today. He HAD to take time on Froome but looked weaker in the run in. Aru is interesting and unpredictable, he looks like the only threat to Froome from here on in. Quintana is a bust flush also, couldn't stay with the second group.
