Most boring TDF for years, give me 2012 over this crap(2012 was bad), atleast we had strong rider their in Froome. This TDF is embarrasing all hail Nibali the TDF winner, he will be looking down to his right or left and will say, who the hell are these guys on the podium. Pinot is 2nd best climber in race, absoloute hilarious.
The problem is that you keep looking at the first place. If you get pass that you'll have more fun. Don't think the competition is the best, but have to take what the Tour gives you.

gee by that standard this year Giro's and 2013 were cataclysmic... do you honestly think Uran would be competing for the win with Nibali... Face it dude, in most of the GTs a dominant rider emerges quite early on. But at least this year we don't have horrible trains turning every mountain stage into a borefest, we've had a reasonnable amount of fun stages (2,5,7,8,9,11) outside the pure mountain stages.. no honestly to call it the most boring TDF for years is just plain ridiculous. No one is saying this tour is legendary, and everybody regrets Froome and Contador sure, but this Tour is emminently watchable, that's for sure. If you're not happy just turn the tv off and go for a beer.

Im going to watch for sure im a sport nut, i will watch any sport. It is just competition, many people say it is nice seeing the new riders come through, i don't agree unless they are actually the strongest. What is so good about seeing Pinot on podium, when he has no chance usually?.

It is like watching a champs league game, United rest their stars and someone will say oh it is nice see the young guard playing. Im sorry i don't like that, i have not been a cycling fan for years, but i watch the 2006 TDF and biggest regret was no Basso and Ullrich. Last year Froome dominated vs absoloute stars. He beat three of the top 5 GT riders in world, Quintana, Purito and Contador(who was not on form), that is far more impressive and then we get peoplesaying Oh i think Nibali is unbeatable this year. This year only one top 5 GT rider in race.

Just picture this podium, Nibali, Pinot, Peraud?. How stupid is that

The only person lately who didnt develop and suddenly emerged is your boy Froome. people generally don't go from zeros to heros, so 'new riders' emerging (and progressing) is a good thing. now get back to massaging the dawgs paws.

TJ's bonk, plus mollema's result makes me question the DS' more than the rider (moreso in mollema's case). I know leond got a bit heavy post-race on the year round rider concept (classics, a GT, and worlds, etc) but it does seem like teams arent quite as balanced as they used to be as far as team leaders go.

Despite yespattern's non-fan stance toward Evans, I want to point out that Evans is one of the most consistent riders in the peloton. He was good all year, every year. Never great, never world shattering, but always just good. The charge yespattern levels is that Froome wasn't good, ever, and then suddenly--as you put it--he dominates.

Furthermore, in response to your judgment of Pinot, I present as evidence his current age: 24. He hasn't been a podium contender yet b/c the last and only time he finished the Tour he was 22.

To put that into perspective, Ulle finished second at 22 and dominated at 23. (It may be 23 and 24, can't recall exactly.) And that's Ullrich, one of the greatest talents we've seen in the past two decades, regardless of enhancements.

For a young Frenchman to be doing this well is amazing. And not only that, but he's developing. Instead of going from pack fodder to 1st in a year, he went from 10th at the Tour to 7th at the Vuelta to (hopefully) 3rd or even 2nd at the Tour in three years. That's a reasonable progression for a young talent if you ask me. Expecting him to be winning it all already is unreasonable, and dismissing him as not having a chance is just silly.

Did you ever see him race without enhancements?

Before today's stage i would have nominated Tejay for a place on the podium and Chris Broadman was of a similar opinion noting that the American was getting stronger. Do any Tejay watchers here know if he habitualy has a problem after a rest day.

No he said that he just couldn't keep up with the early pace set by Movistar. Said he is hopeful his legs will be better tomorrow.

Also we know the Alps suit him more than the Pyrenees.

Never great? Evans circa 2005-09 probably could win this TDF and while Nibali will now overtake him, he is probably the second best gt rider of the last decade. Look at the gt's he did up until about 2 years ago, in each one (with the exception of the 2 tdfs he finished way down in) you'll find him beating out top gt winners and contenders by minutes.
