It was 0300 in California. New York (+3 hrs) and Chicago (+2 hrs) had it marginally easier this morning.

On the other hand, if you're in Hawaii (-3 hours) it started at midnight, you're up late, and no worries. :)

I wonder why Andy's mother didn't write last year. Or every year. :p

but she is always there - maybe writing would help more than cheering at the final ;)

The tour website definitely doesn't like so many groups on the road. The gaps have stayed the same since stone age.

I just assume that no one in Hawaii watches cycling.

The East and Central time zoner actually got up later....it was a 3 am wake up call for us Pacific time zone on the West coast of the US...if I was younger, would have stayed up all night...

hope this stage lives up to the intro you did Hitch...otherwise..i will fall asleep..

Talking of the Leopards in this context is redundant IMO, they will definitely drop back to help Andy at some point in the stage, TGBM doesn't have to.

No its not. We're talking about climbing ability not who has the best chance to win. Anyway I think when the break does inevitably split you will see at least 1 Leopard rider stay with them.

Rui's in that 5, yea. Guti and Ventoso did their job getting him across, now dropped.

The big surprise is that Radioshack have missed the move. They have nothing else to race for now.

Saxo with no one in break?

Has Contador ever used a team;)

His team was so invisible in the Giro i thought pink was simply the colour of the Saxo bank jersey.

HTC not in the reak! Disapointing!

They'll get on the front 80km out to set up for the bunch sprint, don't you worry.

Tejay van Garderen has been given a supreme reprimand for besmirching the team's name by winning the Combativity Prize last week. He was forced to kiss the feet of Cavendish, then Renshaw threw him into some barriers.

Gusy who do you think some1 from breakaway can win today?? and who in your opinion has best chances?

As there's no time boni available I wouldn't be surprised if the break goes. And if it does, my money's on Casar or Riblon.
