He also recounts how the crash happened (very as a matter of factly he states he 'just went too wide'; they were doing 50-60K/hr ended up in the ditch and couldn't steer out of it, as the ditch got deeper and deeper and was covered with lots of pebbles/rocks)

I suspect the reason for this stage being on a Sunday is 1/3 of France is currently driving to the south. Another 1/3 are driving home from the south and the final 1/3 are in the south, sitting by the side of the road watching the Tour and drinking wine
